Chapter Sixteen: You don't want to know what I hear through the walls
After missing an intire day of collage because of the time I spent with Jayden I was more behind then I though I would be. When I walked into class the next morning and heading over to my usual painting spot, Mrs James looked up from her desk and motioned me over. I put my bag down on the floor and went over to her. When I reached her, she handed me a thick stack of pages which I almost dropped when she handed to me.
"What's this?" I asked, flipping the upside down first page the right way up so I could read it.
"The assiments you missed yesterday and the day before." Mrs James said sternly. "Where were you yesterday Spencer?"
"I was with Jayden." I said sheepishly. "I over slept."
"And the day before that?"
"It was a Sunday!" I said. "I wasn't going to come to school on a Sunday!" Mrs James just looked at me.
"You are not in high school anymore Spencer. Next time you miss more then two days you'll have to catch up yourself. I'm hear to teach you, not baby you." I blinked at her, but I slowly nodded my head.
"Yes ma'am." She nodded back at me.
"Good. Now go take your seat. We're working with pencil today."
It turned out, pencil was a lot easier then I thought it would be. Mrs James didn't want us doing anything too full on whilst we got used to it, so I was doodling around in my sketch pad for most of the lesson. I copied the flowers off the projector that she had up on the front wall and took the page of body sketches that she offered me. After that class I had a lecture in the main auditorium with the art proffessor Mr Woodgrass where he droned on and on and on about the difference between Greek art and Roman art. Thank god I put my phone on record at the beginning because I fell asleep half way through.
I was the only one at collage out of my usual four that day so I took my leftovers from last nights dinner over to a table in the corner. I put my ear phones in and turned up Ed Sheeran while I read through the huge assiment Mrs James had given me. I was up to page 20 when a girl slid onto the bench across from me and leaned her elbows on the table. I stopped twirling my fork through my pasta and raised my eyebrows at her. She motioned for me to take my headphones out and after a couple of seconds of thought, I pulled them out.
"Can I help you?" I asked, trying not to show how annoyed I was that she'd disturbed me. The girl slid a photo across the table towards me. I glanced down at it and almost did a double take when I realised it was a photo of Jayden and I. It had clearly been taken at the Premiar and some sneaky photographer had taken it while Jayden had been asking me if I'd had a panic attack. He had his hand on my lower back and had his head tilted down towards my ear, his face half hidden by my hair. There was a small grin on my face and you would have throught he was paying me a compliment, or going in for a kiss if you hadn't heard the whole story.
"What's this?" I asked, indicating towards the photo.
"Can you sign it for me?" She asked. I blinked at her.
