Worrying won't stop the bad stuff from happening. It just stops you from enjoying the good."

Chapter Eighteen:

When I woke up the next morning, I found myself on the floor. With a frown, I sat up, rubbing a hand over my aching shoulder. The rest of the room was empty, the balcony windows open and the curtains flapping in the light summer breeze. I sat up slowly, grabbing the light green blanket that was thrown over me and placing it on the bed. Jayden's suitcase, which was by the chest of draws was open with clothes flung a over the floor around it. I grabbed a hoodie of his off the floor and as I was pulling it over my head, I spotted Jayden out on the balcony on the phone. He waved through the window when he saw me. I waved back and then wandered my way into the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face to wake myself up. When I came back out again, Jayden had finished his phone call and was just pulling on a coat when I re-entered the room.

"Where are you going?" I asked, following him towards the door.

"I've got bloody meetings all day." Jayden replied, flicking down the edge of his coller.

"I thought you were a movie star." I said, "not a businessman." Jayden raised his eyebrows at me.

"Yeah well." He said. "Jack likes to have everything on tech. How the hell am I supposed to get everything perfect if I don't go to all the meetings and learn all my lines."

"He makes you learn lines?" I asked, as I followed him out the door and onto the landing. Jayden nodded.

"He figures I can't screw up my interviews if I have everything already rehearsed." I shrugged.

"I suppose that's logical." Jayden shrugged.

"It may be logical, but it's sure as hell annoying." I laughed and ruffled his hair as he bent down to pull on his shoes.

"So." I said, leaning against the wall. "What am I supposed to do all day?" Jayden stood up and began to head down the stairs.

"I have no idea." He said, flashing me a smile. "Have a good day Nala Bear." And then he was gone. I heard him talking to his body guard Sam at the door and then it was quiet. I stood up the top of the stairs for a couple of seconds before I turned and padded back up to the room. Now that Jayden wasn't there to hog all the covers, I closed the curtains again and climbed back into bed.

Three hours later I woke up. On the floor. Again. The sun was peaking through the window at this stage and the room was no longer dark. With a yawn, I piled the blankets back onto the bed and wandered over to the phone by the door. After ordering room service from a nice lady called Mrs Blossom, I found a swimsuit at the bottom of my suitcase. I put it on and after leaving a sign on my door to have my food taken to the roof top garden, I headed up to the pool.

I'd never really been much of a water baby when I was a kid. After the accident happen, I was terrified of the sea. Maybe it was the idea of being near the thing that had caused our day out which had caused my family to fall into disarray, but whatever the reason, it took me the two years before I left for L.A to get over that fear. In all honesty, Prim's brother Brad was a big help during that time because he taught kids how to swim at the local pool and he would take me there after school to teach me to trust the water again. I still can't stand the sight of boats and I'm not very fond of swimming in the sea, but I could spend all day in the pool now if I wanted to.
