Chapter Twenty Seven: No, I can on a flying unicorn
I woke up to someone shaking me.
"Spence." Someone whispered in my ear. "Spencer wake up." I let out a muffled groan and slowly opened my eyes. Jayden was leaning over me, one hand gently resting on my forehead.
"What gives?" I muttered. "I'm really tired Jay."
"I know." He said, "but the doctors here. He sayes he has to speak to you." With a sigh, I sat up. The doctor who performed surgery on Nanna was standing in the doorway. He looked exhausted, dark circles under his eyes and his salt and pepper hair was sticking straight up like he'd stuck his hand in a light socket. I gave him a smile.
"You look like you need to go home Doc." I said. Doctor Green returned my smile and came over to sit down in the chair beside me. "How is she?" I asked. Doctor Green let out a sigh.
"She's fallen into the coma Spencer." My heart dropped down to the pit of my stomach. Really, I shouldn't have been suprised. I knew before Nanna went into the surgery that she was ready to move on. However, experiencing it was harder then I thought it would be. I let my eyes drop to the floor where they focused on my dirty white sneakers. After a few seconds, they blurred into two separate white blobs and a single tear ran down my cheek. I could hear Jayden and Doctor Green talking, but I wasn't paying them any attention. My hands were shaking in my lap. I let out a strangled sound, and Jayden was suddenly sitting beside me, wrapping his arms around my shoulders.
"Take her home for now." I heard Doctor Green say. "She needs to rest. I don't think she's slept in the two days she's been here."
"Keep me posted." Jayden said, gently rubbing circles on my back with the palm of his hand.
"Of course Mr Grace. I'll notify you at once if there's any change."
"Thank you." Said Jayden. Then he bent his head so he was level with me, running his hand gently over my hair.
"Come on Nala Bear." He said. "Let's get you somewhere quiet and warm shall we?"

News about celebrities sure does move quickly. Maybe there might have still been some fire behind the whole kidnapping thing, but the car park of the tiny hospital was packed by the time we got outside. Jayden had his arm around my waist, keeping me firmly attached to his side. Four security gaurds were with us, one in front, one behind and two on either side. People were screaming our names, news reporters were shoving microphones into our faces.
"You have a car right?" I said into Jayden's ear. He rolled his eyes at me.
"No Spencer, I came on a flying unicorn." I scowled at him and he grinned, twisting his body away as I aimed a punch at his shoulder. "Yes Nala Bear. I have a car." He gave me a push in the direction of his convertible, pressing a button to lower the roof. I scurried through the crouds of people, leaped over the top of his doors and landed in the passengers seat, amazingly, without breaking my neck. I craned my neck to spot Jayden, who was standing with his back to me, addressing at least three or four news reporters and their camera crews. I couldn't hear what he was saying over the screaming of the fans surrounding the car. Thankfully, Jayden's convertible was surrounded by a ring of sercurity and they couldn't get to me. Eventually, he turned away from them and began to head towards me. Just as he moved past the small group of fans, three girls broke away from the sercurity guards.
