"We'll be the old ladies running amock in the nursing home."
Chapter Fourty Four
The sunlight woke me up.
It was streaming through a chink in the curtians, small specks of dust swirling in the gleaming rays. I let out a groan, throwing a hand over my eyes, trying to block out the burning light that was buring out my eyes. I squinted up at the ceiling for a couple of seconds, fighting with myself about whether I should get up and close the curtians or whether I should just put up with it and try to go back to sleep. In the end, the idea of darkness and a more restful sleep won over and I kicked the covers off my legs to stand up. However, the boy beside me had other ideas.
Jayden stired slightly, burueing his face deeper into my neck. His arms tightened around my waist, keeping me firmly in place.
"Jayden." I sighed.
"Where are you going?" He mumbled, his breath tickling the sensitive skin on my neck. I tipped my head back and he brushed his nose against my cheek.
"I have to close the curtians." I said, trying to get up again.
"No." Jayden whined. "Stay in bed with me." I let out a soft laugh and turned around so I was facing him, our noses touching. His eyes were half opened, his hair ruffled with sleep. My heart leapt a little at the sight of him and I reached out to trail my finger along the cut of his jaw. He smiled, grabbing hold of my hand and brought my hand to his lips, gently kissing my knuckles. I smiled at him, squeezing his fingers gently. My eyes flashed to the clock over his bare shoulder on the beside table behind him. 9:34 pm.
"Jay." I murmured gently. "Jayden." His eyes fluttered open, blue irises staring at me half lidded. "We have to get up." I said. He shook his head defiantly, pressing his face deeper into the pillow. I rolled over so I was lying on my back, staring at the clean white ceiling of my boyfriends bedroom. Reaching for the bedside table, I managed to hook my fingers around my phone. I rolled over so that my back was pressed against Jayden's front, one hand pillowed against my cheek and one hand holding my phone. Jayden seemed to like this as he planted a kiss on my shoulder and then hide his face in the back of my head. Within seconds, his breathing had evened out again and he was asleep.
As soon as I turned my phone on, it suddenly had a lifeof it's own. It jumped and dance, constantly buzzing, like an over excited journalist who had discovered the biggest hidden secret that eveyone was desperate to know.
I logged onto instagram, turning down the volume so I wouldn't wake the sleeping boy behind me. The first thing I saw was a shaking vidoe posted by a girl who's user name was "SpaydenForLife." It was a shaking, hand held video of Jayden and I on stage. Jayden was kneeling before me and I had one hand covering my mouth. From what I could tell without the sound on, the croud was screaming. The caption down the bottom of the video read:
EEEEEK! MY SHIP IS NO LONGER IN A MILLION PIECES. THIS WAS SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!! RIP ME.
A grin spread across my face and stayed there as I scrolled through my tags, liking and commenting on different posts. By the time Zoe's text came through, it was already 10:15 and I'd been scrowling for almost an hour.
Z: "Are we going to be seeing much of you today?" My reply was almost instant.
S: "I don't know yet. I'll see what's happening when Jayden wakes up."
