"It's so funny how people who know the least about you have the most to say."

Chapter Thirty Four: Yeah. So is a granade
It was almost midday when Jayden rang.
I was curled up in a corner of my studio, doing some research about traditional European Art. But the Internet was so slow it took me half an hour to open one tab. I was staring dejectedly out the window, trying to control my urge to smash my laptop to kindling, when the silence was cut short by the sound of my phone bursting into life. I jumped violently and hit my head against the wall, sending pain rockerting through my scull. Gritting my teeth, I reached out and picked up my phone. I let out a sigh as a I answered it.
"You just gave me a head ache." I said.
"How?" Jayden sounded confused.
"You scared the shit out of me!" I said. "It was nice and quiet and then boom! Silence shattered by the rudeness of the ring tone."
"Right." Said Jayden slowly. "So I was just ringing to see if you're busy right now."
"Um." I said slowly.
"Come on Nala bear." Said Jaydne. "I haven't seen you in ages! Is something wrong?"
"No!" I said hurriedly. "I was just styuding that's all."
"Okay." Said Jayden slowly. "Well I don't have to if you're busy."
"No it's fine Jay." I said. "You're right. Come on over. I'm staying at my studio, so you might have to drive for a while, but pick up some pizza on the way will you? I haven't had lunch yet and I'm starved."
"Why don't you order it Spence?" Jayden said with a laugh. "You're the one right above a pizza store." I slapped a hand to my forehead.
"Right." I said. "Stupid me. I'm on it."
"Awesome." Jayden replied and I heard the sound of a car door slam shut." "See you in ten yeah?"
"Yeah." I replied. "See you then." I hung up and stood up, stretching my arms above my head. Then I stepped over my computer and headed for the door of my apartment to order the pizza down stairs, pulling my hood over my head to help hide my identity.
"Back for more Miss Spencer!" Called the owner, Barny, waving at me with a dish cloth across the counter. I smiled at him, stepping up to him and leaning my arms on the counter top.
"You know me Barny." I said with a smile. "I love your pizza almost as much as I love you." Barny laughed, a deep, belly laugh, the kind that's contagious.
""You're very smooth Miss Spencer, I'll give you that." I smiled at him.
"The usual please Barny." I said. "But times by two." Barny raised his eyebrows me as he called my order out to his three sons working out the back.
"Having company are we Miss Spencer?" I shook my head.
"No Barny. Just feeling particularly hungry today." Barny might be my friend, but that didn't mean he wouldn't jump at the chance for more publicity and call the paps if I told him Jayden was on his way over. Barny shrugged my responce off.
