Chapter Thirty-Seven: My life is about as private as Kim Kardashian's

I turned my phone off when I got inside the door.

I didn't want to know what the press thought. I didn't want to listen to Jack and I certainly wanted nothing to do with Jayden.

I barely noticed that the house was quiet and dark. I barely noticed anything. I felt sort of numb. Which was a nice change from the normal feelings of anger and awareness. I dumped my keys and my phone on the table and made my way up stairs.

Toby was curled up on the bed when I went into my room and he lifted his head breifly when I walked past him. When he realised I had no food, he dropped it back down onto his paws. I stroked the top of his head as I walked past him to my desk where my laptop was. After unplugging it and finding it fully charged, I placed it on the bed and headed down stairs again to look for some snacks. I let out a quiet huff of annoyance at the emptiness of our cupboards. I spotted a hoodie flung over the back of a chair and I pulled it on, grabbing my keys and heading straight out the door.

The walmart at the end of the street was thankfully less crouded than I thought it would be. Quiet music was playing over head and apart from the sleepy clerk at the register, no one else noticed me come in. I was just heading up to the register with my arms full of food when the tv channel above the toliet door changed channels and grabbed my attention.

It was one of those gossip shows, mainly watched by teenage girls. The first thing I noticed was the blown up photo of Jayden and I caught in a heated arguement. The photo was grainy, obviously taken on a long lense from a far distance. The fact that it was through a window obviously didn't help. But you could tell it was us. I had my arms raised in the air and Jayden had one hand out in my direction. Leaning against the chip stand I tuned in to what the presenter was saying.

"And making headlines this evening we have some bad news for fans of Spayden, Hollywood's current golden couple. The pair were due to show up this at the album release of Maxien Waters, who is believed to be a close friend of both sides of the pair, however it is clear from this photo that things didn't go exactly to plan. If you watched our bulliton yesterday, you will know that Jayden has been seen a lot out and about with co-worker Haley Jones. Although the young star claims that they are only friends, their constant hanging out and Spencers out burst today lead us to believe otherwise. Spencer was seen leaving Jayden's apartment shortly after the incident and neither one of the couple showed up at the album release. Unfortunately that's all I have for you right now on this hot topic, but more information on whether the spark between the couple as burned out for good or not, will be coming shortly. I'm Alison Drake, and you're watching celebrity hot spot."

The whole idea made me sick. I stormed up the the register and slammed my food down on the counter. The clerk jumped violently, but at that point I couldn't have cared less. The argument between Jayden and I had taken place not even an hour ago and everyone already knew about it. There was certainly no such thing as privacy in the hollywood world, was there?

When I woke up the next morning, Zoe was banging violently on my door. I sat up, blinking in the harsh sunlight.
