Chapter Twenty Nine: I'm about as calm as a kid on a sugar high
The ride to the airport was quiet to say the least.
I was cuddled up against Jayden for most of it, my head resting against his shoulder. As soon as we'd gotten into the car, Jack had started lecturing me about letting him or Sam and Gracie,Jayden's body guards, know where I was at all times, how I should at least text Jayden if I was going somewhere or if I planned on leaving the country again any time soon. Then he proceeded to hand me a raspberry ice tea from the local super market and told me he was glad I was okay.
Men are strange.
When we actually arrived at the airport, the paparazzi started banging on the windows before the car had even come to a stop. One man got squished against my window, pushed flat by other people trying to see in the window. I jumped back with a shriek when his cheek mushed up against the glass but he was gone as soon as he arrived. Danny swore, talking hurriedly into his ear piece as he tried to get us up to the front doors without running anyone over. Jack was giving us instructions, but everything he was saying was going completly over my head. All I could do was stare out the windows at the flashing cameras, listening to the yelling voices that didn't at all sound friendly.
"There's no back entrance." Jack was saying when I finally tuned back in. "At least, not one that isn't covered by fans or paps okay? The only way in is through those fronts doors." My breath froze in my throat. Getting out the car and fighting my way through that seemed about as appealing as chopping my own arm off and feeding it to sharks. Jack must have seen my face because he reached out and patted my knee. "Don't worry about it too much Spencer. The security won't let anyone get to you." I nodded and managed a smile, though inside, I was scared shitless.

When Danny finally managed to get to the airports enterence, Jayden and his body guard Sam were working together to get the bags out of the trunk via the back seat. I could see the fans by then, heaps of screaming girls surrounding the enterence. The paparazzi seemed to have tripled in number, but the only way to get home was to go through them. And I was missing my bed too much not to go through them. Five security guards had managed to get to the car and were surrounding the door I was suppost to get out of, followed closely by Jayden. Gracie and Sam were so tense, I was worried they might explode.
"Exiting the car in three, two, one." Gracie spoke into her ear piece and then she opened the door, pushing me out into the arms of one of the security guards. Jayden yanked my hood over my face as I scrambled past him and it was hanging low in my eyes as I started walking. Jayden was right behind me, his hand pressed firmly to the small of my back. The security guards formed a tight circle around us, but it wasn't enough. All at once, the paparazzi surged forward, driving us backward. The security moved forward, leaving Jayden and I pressed against the car. Jayden was just reaching for my hand when someone grabbed onto the coller of his leather jacket and yanked him backwards into the crowd. He vanished quicker then you could say Jacks Gap.
"Jayden!" I shrieked.
"Stay calm Miss Rose!" Sam called over his shoulder, diving in the direction Jayden had disappeared. "Stay calm."
