You and I are never a thing,
Never have been, never will be;
Should've thought of that before,
I let you kiss me, and then kill me.
What began as mere talks at night,
Turned into endless jokes you made;
You're dating me, I play along,
We're breaking up, a piece of cake.
An on-and-off non-existent relationship,
You never meant any of it;
Make me laugh, hurt me instead,
Spare your feelings just a little bit.
You're not getting my hopes up,
Nor are you turning me down;
Chase me away before I come closer,
But you like to see me drown.
Then you go and make me worried sick,
Turn my life into utter chaos;
Feeling helpless, I can only pray,
Help you no matter what it costs.
I share with you my deepest secrets,
Somehow I know you can be trusted;
It just feels that way, you know,
But I can tell when I'm not wanted.
