I Don't Mind
☆☆☆
"You don't mind?" he asked.
"I don't mind."
"You're lying."
"No, I'm not."
He gave me a knowing look. "Why don't you mind?"
"Somehow I'm convinced that it wouldn't last. Is she gonna be the one behind your empire? Is she gonna be the one behind your ups and downs? Do you see her? Do you see her next to you walking down the aisle in a white dress? Can you picture the both of you dancing in the living room to some old songs?" she asked.
Without giving him the chance to speak, she continued, "Is she gonna be the one you bring home to meet your parents? Is she? Do you love her? Do you even know what love is? Do you love the idea of the both of you together or do you actually love her? There's a difference, you know. So no, I don't mind you dating someone."
"Okay, so you would only mind if I get married with another girl?" he asked.
She offered him a small smile and said, "I'll worry about that when the time comes."
