Not Theirs, Not Ours

We all have been through that. Caring about someone who doesn't care about us. And we think that we're the only givers here. We're the only ones providing more than what they deserve. But the truth is, I think, they can't be heartless enough not to care at all about us. I think that they do care about us, but it's not in a way we want them to. We give them love, and we expect to receive the same amount of love and care.
And when we don't, we think we're at fault for caring about people who don't seem to do the same to us. But if you really think about it, aren't we just like them too? Did we ever think of someone caring about us more than we care about them? Did it ever cross our minds that there's someone out there feeling exactly how we feel about somebody else? I think that when we care about someone, we just do. We don't have to think that they don't care about us too.
Maybe they do, but not in the same way. We'll never know. If you think that everyone has the same heart as you do, you're going to end up feeling miserable. Everyone shows their love in different ways. For some, it's obvious. For others, it's invisible. We'll just have to believe in them. If they don't care about us the way we do about them, it's not their fault. Not ours either.
