The Writer and Their Muse

☆☆☆

To be in one of the writer's pieces of writing
It's either a curse or a blessing
They can turn you into an angel or a devil
Give you wonderful words or tarnish your reputation

To be written so beautifully about
To be the one millions of people could relate to
To be remembered by mind and felt by heart
What a beautiful thought

Oh wait, you could be painted as the heartbreaker
The mistakes, the pain, the memories and flashbacks
So often you're going to be loved more
Because you, the devil, are much more relatable

How lucky
You're the inspiration, you're the muse
You're the experience, you're the printed words
You'll be read and talked about

People will keep wondering
"Who's behind all these stories?"
A writer can only smile
Secrets kept locked in the back of their mind

And most of the time you won't know
That you've become the metaphors on pages
How dense can you be? So lucky
A writer doesn't write if they don't care

It's so easy for a writer to begin writing
The words flow easily when you're on their mind
I know you're on mine, day and night, always
Maybe that's why I can write this piece so easily
