Believe

"You're crazy." She rolled her eyes and turned around. Before she could even take two steps, he turned her back around.
"I really do love you," he said to her. "Why don't you believe me?"
She frowned at him. She could feel the wound reopening itself. She spoke without thinking.
"Years ago you have warned me that you only know how to break girls' hearts and how to make them cry," she paused.
Giving him an unbelievable look, she added, "And why should I believe you?"
He opened his mouth and closed it. He couldn't let a word out. He knew she was right. After all, he hurt her the most.
She could see the sincerity in his pleading eyes. She could see how much he wanted her to believe him. And she wanted to. She wanted to believe what he said. She really did.
She just couldn't bring herself to.
