Violet's POV
.
.
I woke up the next day earlier than usual, cuz I had to complete my homework which I hadn't completed yesterday due to my head injury. My head was better now, it didn't hurt as much as it hurted yesterday but I would still need to take painkillers. I took a shower and get dressed in white jeans, a pink t-shirt which had a design of black swans and butterflies bunched together in the shape of a heart, and my sneakers. I left my hair to air dry.
I went to my study desk and start up my laptop. While my laptop was starting up, I went and opened the door of the balcony. The rush of cold morning air blew my hair and made me feel refreshed. The street was quiet and there was not a single person in sight. This place was new to me. I still didn't know any of our neighbours, which is weird because this area is known for being friendly and we've been here since last Friday.
I went back in and started working. First, I completed my maths homework. Yeah, I just love maths. Please note the sarcasm. Then, I started doing research for IR assignment and took notes of anything I considered important.
I was almost done when I noticed the time. Shot, I was late! I turned off my laptop quickly and went downstairs after picking up my bag and iPhone. Mom was eating breakfast and dad was nowhere to be seen. She looked up when she heard me enter and smiled warmly, "Good Morning, Violet."
"Morning, mom," I said rushing around to get a bowl for my cereal, "I am a bit late today."
"How is the head pain?" she asked me.
"It's okay. I've taken painkillers," I added milk to my bowl after putting Cheerios in it and sat down on a bar stool to eat.
She nodded, "Is your friend picking you up? Cuz your dad has already gone to work."
"Yeah, she is," I told her. I continued after a while, "Mom, tomorrow Kate and I will meet you at the mall after school. Is that okay?"
"That's completely fine. I was going to say the same thing," she told me and I nodded, going to the sink to put away my cereal bowl.
Just as turned around, the horn of Michael's car was heard. I quickly said goodbye and kissed her cheek. Picking up my bag, I went out and locked the door after me. While I was walking to his car, I saw Issac sitting in his car in front of one of the houses in front of mine. The house was to the right side of mine and because of that he didn't see me. I frowned, I didn't knew that he lived in this area. Well, it would save us the trouble of going to Book Café or library if he did.
I shook my head to get of these thoughts and climbed into Michael's car, "Hello, guys! How are you today?"
Michael answered me, "Hi, Violet. We are good. But how is your head?"
I smiled, "It's much better. Thanks for picking me up today."
"No problem, bestie!" that was Kate.
"Hey! I thought I was your best friend!" Michael said mock offended.
She only shook her head at him like he was a child, "Yeah, you are but you're also my boyfriend. So that means I can have another best friend too."
"But I don't wanna share my best friend," he whined.
I giggled, "C'mon, Michael! Sharing is caring. I also want a best friend like her."
"Okay, fine then," he grinned.
I turned to look at Kate, "You will have to come with me Friday after school to the mall, Kate. Mom will be there and then we will go shopping. Is that okay with you?"
"Of course, Violet!" she replied cheerfully.
The rest of the ride was silent and I kept thinking about what would happen today. I could easily handle to Melissa. She always used the most overused phrases in the history and I considered myself talented enough to answer those with sarcasm and wit. It's actually Brad that I was worried about. Somehow, I got tongue tied whenever he bullies me. But I would make today different. If he tried to bully me, I won't go go down without a fight. After all, bullies like him want to see the fear in their victims and to watch them surrender to them. And I refused to be like that. I would try my best to stay out of his way and if somehow he found me, which I was sure that he would, then I would give him a piece of my mind. A snort escaped me, who the hell am I kidding, I would probably nod to get it over quickly.
When we reached school, the three of us went our own ways, promising to meet at lunch. I went to my AP psychology class, my most favourite subject. Yes, psychology would be my major in college, I had already decided that I wished to be a psychiatrist because I wanted to help people overcome their fears and problems.
The class passed in the blink of an eye and I found myself going to the next class which was boring to say the least.
Since the third period was free, both for me as well as Issac, I texted him to meet me at the school library. And unlike the other day, we actually got a lot of work done. Sure, his jokes and innuendoes continued, but he was a good person I realized. He wore a dark green T-shirt that says 'I'm allergic to stupid people, so please stay the hell away' and ripped jeans with ankle boots. His hair was messy and he had made it messier by running his hand through them multiple times. I refrained from asking him what he was doing in my neighbourhood in the morning, even though I was dying to. It didn't think that he lived there.
The rest of the day was okay because I actually managed to avoid Brad and Melissa through out the day. Big achievement, I know.
Today, I had to walk back home because Kate and Michael skipped school right after lunch. I didn't even want to think what they were doing now. And so it happened today that my dad was really busy at the head office. It had no freaking choice but to walk.
I kept walking with my earphones stuffed in my ears, Steal My Girl by One Direction blasting through them. My head was automatically moving to the beat and I was singing along quietly. Well, as quietly as a directioner can.
Her kisses like cream
Her walk is so mean
And every jaw drops
When she's in those jeans
Alright
Alright!
I was so lost in the song that I didn't notice the person in front of me until it was too late. I bumped into them and fell flat on my already flat butt. I groaned and pulled out my earphones to give them a piece of my mind, but when I looked up, I saw that he was holding out his hand for me to take so that he could help me up. He is cute!
