*****Violet's POV
.
.
Arriving at the Red Crescent hospital, we went straight to the elevator, not bothering to ask the receptionist about where the room was. Dad pressed the button for third floor and the elevator started moving up. A minute later, we were already at the third floor. Dad led the way to her room and knocking on the door briefly, he went in. Mom and I followed him in.
While mom and dad greeted her, I looked around. It was an average hospital room; white walls, a bed, a bedside table, a small couch and a table on which a few bouquets of flowers were sitting.
I walked closer to the bed and greeted her, "Hello, Aunt Kayla. How are you today?"
She looked at me surprised. Maybe she was having a hard time believing that I was still here after all she did to keep me away from her. Other than surprise on her face, there was weakness and sadness. She looked so vulnerable and tired. I really felt sorry for her.
Overcoming her surprise of seeing me here, she spoke weakly, "Is that you, Violet? I can't believe you're here. After all, I never gave you the love of an aunt I was supposed to. I'm so sorry, Violet."
I stepped closer and got to see the tears that were swimming in her eyes. Maybe it was all because of weakness, but I should her a chance. Taking a deep breath, I started, "It's okay, Aunt Kayla. I'm also at fault. I never visited you and I'm sorry for that," I smiled and diverted the topic of conversation from past to present, "So how are you feeling?"
She smiled weakly, "I'm okay. Kevin told me that the therapy would start from tomorrow. I hate hospitals."
I nodded awkwardly, not knowing what to say next. Thankfully dad took control of the conversation. I couldn't understand more than half of the medical terms, but I didn't let boredom show on my face.

About half an hour later, we said our goodbyes to her and promising to visit soon, left the hospital. Then we drove to an Italian restaurant. The place was so beautiful that I couldn't describe it in words.
We ate our delicious food and talked happily about anything and everything. I told you we were a happy family and were close to each other. It was only just recently that Brad brought me to the shame of hiding things from my mom, saying that I must not tell anyone.
Why the hell am I thinking about him on our family outing?!
I shook my head to get rid of the thoughts of Brad. I shouldn't be thinking about him, but I couldn't help myself. The jerk made me a bigger target of Melissa's bullying than I already was. Now she must be thinking that I made Brad break up with her and that he was cheating on her with me. Just the thought of the idea made me want to burst out laughing! That's impossible!

Next (Wednesday) morning
Waking up to the sound of my alarm, I did my morning routine and got ready for another gruesome day at school. I was wearing white skinny jeans with a yellow layered top. I put on some lip balm and slipped on my sneakers. Picking up my iPhone and bag, I went downstairs and had a quick breakfast.
I walked to school because I needed time to think about a perfect lie to feed Kate about where I went with Brad the day before yesterday. I thought long and hard but didn't find the perfect excuse. Argh! What do I do now!?!
