Violet's POV

.

.

The next morning was another lazy Sunday morning. I woke up at quarter past ten and after getting freshened up, I dressed up in denim short shorts and a screaming red sleeveless shirt with the words 'Back off, idiot!' written on it. Leaving my hair loose, I went downstairs and surprise surprise, no one was home.

You see, as long as I could remember, mom and dad were used to spending Saturdays with me and Sundays together. Ever since they started dating back in high school, they dedicated Sundays for spending quality time with each other. Maybe that's the reason they are still going strong even after years of being together. It would be nineteen years of their marriage this October. I love them and they are my ideals.

Sigh

Anyway, I went to the kitchen and poured cereal for myself in a bowl. Adding milk and taking a spoon, I walked to the living room and turned on the TV. Settling on some random movie, I started eating my cereal. To be honest, I wasn't even paying attention to the movie. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't even notice when my bowl became empty.

Sighing, I got up to place the bowl in the sink. While in the kitchen it suddenly hit me that I should bake something. I sucked at cooking big time, but baking, I was a pro.

Smiling, I ran back to my room and picked up my iPhone. Getting back downstairs, I plugged it into the music system and put it on shuffle. C'mon C'mon by One Direction blasted through the speakers and I danced to the kitchen happily.

Once there, I started pulling out ingredients for cupcakes, singing along and dancing. It was almost half past eleven when I started measuring them and mixing them.

The next song was Masquerade by Backstreet Boys and my mode was lifted some more. I was dancing around the kitchen, mixing ingredients and singing along.

After dancing to three more songs, the batter was ready to be baked, just in need to be poured into the baking trays. Just then Black Magic by Little Mix came on shuffle and I forgot all about what I was doing, just dancing and singing at the top of my voice. I had a spoon in my hand as a microphone and I even did that magic gesture the girls do in the music video. I was so into it that I jumped three feet into the air when someone's amused voice hit my ears.

"Never knew you could sing and dance like that, Steele."

Placing my hand on my chest to calm my breathing, I turned around to see a highly amused Brad and a giggling Isabella. "You-you scared me!" I managed to say.

He raised his eyebrow, "And?"

"You don't just scare others like that, especially in their own houses!" I exclaimed, and listening to my own words, my eyes widened, "Wait! How did you get in?"

He smirked, "Your mom kinda told me where's the spare key."

"Why would she tell you of all people?" I asked mock offended, and turned off the music.

"Because I wanted to come in," he rolled his eyes.

When I kept looking at him skeptically, he motioned towards Isabella with his eyes and it all became clear to me. "Oh right!"

At that moment, it was bound to get awkward, but Isabella kinda saved the day by speaking up, "What were you doing, Violet?"

Before even opening my mouth to answer her, I made the mistake of glancing at Brad, causing my cheeks to burn because of embarrassment. He saw me singing and dancing terribly, for God's sake! It wasn't like my voice was crap. No, I could sing a little. It was just that I was dancing without a care of the world and I hadn't wanted anyone to see it, let alone Brad of all people.
