Violet's POV

.

.

I groaned as I felt something poke my arm. Continuously if I may add. At regular intervals of time too.

It quickly became annoying.

I mumbled sleepily, "Mom, please lemme sleep. I'm tiiiired."

A snort was all I heard and the poking continued.

Only my mother would employ such silly methods to wake up her only child.

"I don't wanna go to school, mommy," I waved my hand blindly to try to stop her and snuggled deeper into my soft pillow.

As I whined those words, something clicked in my overly sleepy brain. I don't have school today.

This time she laughed out loud, while poking my stomach.

Wait!

That doesn't sound like my mum!

My eyes flew open and I sprung up in my bed, only to end up falling on the carpeted floor with a soft thud. I groaned as I tried to untangle myself from the covers.

"Good morning, gorgeous," I heard a male voice and my head snapped up to look at Brad, momentarily forgetting that I was on the floor in a tangled mess in my pajamas.

My stomach would have done a backflip at the endearment he used, if not for his sarcastic tone. I threw him a deadly glare, "If I wasn't stuck, I would've throttled you for scaring the crap out of me and ruining my sleep."

He smirked, not fazed by my warning, "Good thing that you are then."

My glare became colder if that was even possible, "What are you doing here, by the way? And how did you get in? And why the hell are you in my room?!"

My eyes were wide by the end of my rant and I was practically yelling my inquiries at him.

"Calm down, Violet," he stood up from my bed where he was sitting while ruining my beauty sleep and cautiously walked towards me.

Right. He should be cautious. He just woke me up at . . . I glanced over at my alarm clock . . . It was freaking eight in the morning!

I gritted my teeth when he surveyed my appearance, making me feel self conscious. I didn't even want to look in the mirror. I know what I'm like in the mornings.

"I came here to pick you up, and Natalie was the one who let me in," he squatted down next to me and gently freed me from my prison of covers. "When I asked for you, she directed me here telling me that I'll have to risk losing a limb myself," he gave me lazy grin and I couldn't help but smile.

"But why?" I asked with a confused look on my face.

"Why what?" he frowned at me.

"Why are you picking me up, Einstein? We don't have school today," I told him, but without waiting for an answer, I stood up and stretched my arms in front of me.

What? I already am a mess. No need to give him a bigger scare by going all the way. Besides I'm already feeling exposed in my night clothes.

His eyes were sparkling with unidentifiable emotions, but he covered them in an instance, "Well, we're going to my house. You wanted to see Isabella."

I frowned as I padded softly to my closet, "She doesn't have school either?"

He went back to my bed and let himself fall backwards, "Ah comfortable. That's why you didn't want to wake up." He spread his arms to his sides, "Anyway, she would be back soon. Before that we need to cook."
