Violet's POV

.

.

I did it.

I did exactly what my subconscious told me to do. I was nervous, but it worked. It actually worked.

And no, Isabella didn't ask where I've been. She asked a different sort of question, one I wasn't expecting. She asked if I wanted to go to the park.

It wasn't like I had a choice. So I shrugged and said, "Why not?"

So that's how we ended up here, at the entrance of this small park which seemed to be more crowded today than I've ever seen it to be. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday evening.

The day was beautiful, no doubt. The sky was clear. The grass was green. Birds were chirping. Water was wet and soil was brown. I'm not in the mood to do the descriptions. Use your imagination, folks.

Despite of it all, I wasn't too excited to go in. Why you may ask? I didn't want to see or interact with people nor do I want them to look at me. I felt like anyone who'll look at me, will know my feelings. It was irrational, but I couldn't help it.

Brad had been silent ever since we left the house, other than answering Isabella every now and again, that is. Who could blame him? Or me? It was clearly too much for me, if not for him too. I never paid attention to dating, so my experience was practically none. I had no idea what to do when you like someone or when you have an awkward moment with the said someone. But surely he wasn't a novice in this particular field. So why was he acting like this? Don't ask me because I have no idea.

Isabella skipped in and we followed her wordlessly. I was in a daze and only became completely aware of my surroundings again when someone tapped me on the shoulder. "Huh?"

Turning to the person who tapped me, I was ready to tell them off but in nicer words, when I saw who it was. He saw that I had recognized him and enveloped me in a bear hug, "Where did you disappear to? I haven't seen you in ages!"

"I . . . can't b-breathe," I wheezed out.

He let go, "Oh sorry. Now answer my question!"

A genuine smile made an appearance on my lips, "A few days are not ages, Ryan."

He nodded frantically, "It is. It is. Especially when it comes to seeing your beautiful face."

"Shut up," I blushed, suddenly very aware of my surroundings.

He leaned closer and whispered, "Who is that hottie you came with? And why is he glaring at me?"

"Who? Oh, him. That's my classmate, Brad," I waved my hand like he was no one.

"You sure?"

Placing my hands on his chest, I pushed him away and glared at him, "Of course. Why would you say that?"

He smirked and said loud enough for Brad to hear, "Turn around, babe."

With another blush, I turned to look at him and saw that he was indeed glaring at Ryan and that Isabella was nowhere to be seen. My eyes widened slightly, "Where's Isabella, Brad?"

His eyes snapped to mine and he eyed my coldly, "She went to play on the monkey bars."

"Oh."

"You see what I meant," Ryan whispered in my ear.

I gave him a look, "Would you shut up, Ryan. It's not like that."

"Whatever," he waved a hand. Then he smiled boyishly, "Wouldn't you introduce me to your classmate, Violet?"
