Violet's POV

.

.

The first thing I did after getting home was running to my room and texting Brad about the follower. What? I was scared and he might know who that was and what to do. I briefly told him the appearance of the follower and how far he had followed me.

His reply came a few minutes later, saying that he didn't know any man of such appearance and that I'd have to be more careful now that they know that I knew about someone following me around.

When I asked what that meant, he told me that they will strike sooner if that's what they're planning. I frowned, what is that supposed to mean now?

But I didn't asked him that because I knew he'd flip. Instead I told him about what happened this morning at the breakfast, that dad agreed to come along and will convince Derek as well.

He just said okay and signed off of the chat after telling me to inform him of tomorrow's plans.

Sighing, I put my phone down and went to the bathroom to freshen up. After splashing cool water on my face, I changed into my comfortable clothes, that were pajamas by the way, and then went downstairs.

Dad wasn't home yet, and mom was in the kitchen cooking dinner. I went to her and sat on the countertop, "So mom, do you think that we'll all go to amusement park together?"

She turned to look at me and smiled, "Yes, love. Your dad will surely convince Derek to come along. Why, have you changed your mind?"

I giggled, "No, I haven't. I had just wanted to know your opinion."

"Whatever you say, Violet. Anyways how was your day?" She asked, causing me to stiffen slightly.

I thought for a few seconds and then said with a frown, "It was tiring, and you know, mom, Mr Venoso made Brad my tutor for astronomy, because apparently I wasn't doing good enough."

"What's wrong with that?" She turned halfway to look at me, while still stirring whatever she was cooking.

Now that I looked at it from her point of view, I couldn't see either what was wrong with this. After all Brad and I were friends.

"Nothing, I guess," I said, trying to smile.

She opened her mouth to ask some more questions, but dad's 'I'm home, honey!' shout didn't let her.

I sighed with relief, because I didn't know what I would have told her if she had asked further.

Dad came in and sat down at the barstool, "So, what were you two talking about?"

Mom was the one to reply, "Just her schooling." Then she grabbed some herbs and added them into the pot, "How was your day, Kev? Were you able to convince Derek?"

"Of course. He had no choice but to agree," dad grinned.

I had to laugh. Why, you might ask? Just imagine a powerful CEO of one the biggest companies of the world succumbing to the demands of one of his employees who also happens to be his childhood friend. You see what I meant.
