Violet's POV

.

.

The voice that spoke from the other side, made my eyes widen and my sleep vanish, "Why the hell are you not replying to my fucking texts, Steele?"

"I . . . I wasn't . . . " I was speechless truly. Firstly because of the shock that he called at such a time and secondly because he told me not to call and there he was, calling me himself.

"What?" he snapped in annoyance.

Geez! What crawled up his ass and died there?!

"My phone was in my room and I was with mom downstairs. Why? What happened now?" I said, finally overcoming the surprise and shifting to find a comfortable position.

I heard his annoyed voice, "I came home today to an excited Isabella and guess what she told me? She said that you are taking her to an amusement park! How the fuck did that happened? You can't take her with you and you know exactly why you can't!"

I frowned, "First of all, stop swearing at me. Secondly, it wasn't my plan. Dad told me what Derek had told him."

He swore again, "Fucking hell! I should've known that this was his doing." I heard him sigh, "Anyways, you can't take her to a public place like this. I won't allow it and you know why."

"What do you mean by 'his doing'?" I asked curiously.

"That's none of your business, Steele!" he snapped again.

I went silent for a few seconds. Then I spoke lowly, after releasing a tired sigh, "What do you want me to do, Brad? You know damn well that I can't just go to my father and say that the plan is cancelled. He would ask the reason and you know I can't tell him."

"I don't know. Just try to cancel it or else I'd have to accompany her to make sure she stays safe," he sounded tired.

"Or we can just ask our parents to come along," I suggested uneasily.

"That's the most absurd thing in the world I've ever heard. They would never agree," he told me like I was an idiot.

"Maybe you're right, but I'll ask them. I don't wanna disappoint Isabella. She'd be sad to hear that we're not going anymore," I said thoughtfully.

He went silent for a minute and I thought that the call had been disconnected. I was about to check it when his voice was heard, "OK, fine. Do whatever you want, but I'm not letting her go alone with you. I'm coming with you two."

He sounded . . . somehow . . . uneasy, but still determined to protect her. I nodded, but then realized that he could not see me and quickly said, "OK, I'll ask mom and dad tomorrow morning, and dad might be able to convince your parents to come along as well. Anything else?"

"Fine with me. And no, nothing else. Bye," he said and hung up before I could say another word. How rude!

Sighing, I plugged in the charger and placed the phone on my bedside table. Then, without another thought of Brad or what tomorrow might bring, I shut my eyes and slipped into a partial death, also known as sleep.

Next (Friday) morning

Reluctantly opening my eyes after the alarm went off, my first thought was 'It's finally Friday'. Even though I knew that the weekend was almost here, I didn't want to get up. Yeah, today is one of those lazy days when you don't wanna do anything...
