Violet's POV
.
.
I woke up the next morning to the annoying sound of my alarm. I felt so tired because I didn't get much sleep last night as my mind keep drifting to thoughts of Brad. Yawning, I threw back the covers and swung my legs out of the bed. Walking to my closet, I contemplated on what to wear. Finally I chose a band T-shirt and straight cut jeans. Grabbing my underwear, I went to the bathroom to take a shower.
I placed my clothes on the marble sink and jumped in the shower. After washing my hair and body, I turned the water off and dried myself off. Then I brushed my teeth and blow dried my shoulder-length ginger hair. Quickly slipping into my clothes, I went back to my room and put on my converse. Not bothering to put on any makeup, I picked up my iPhone and bag, and went downstairs.
Mom was in the kitchen, drinking coffee. Dad was nowhere to be seen. I greeted her, "Morning, mom!"
She looked up and smiled, "Good morning, baby. Come, have some pancakes."
"Yeah, I'd love that. Where is dad?" I said, sitting down at the breakfast bar and pouring maple syrup on my pancakes.
She took a sip of her coffee, "He left early today. Do you want me to drop you off at school? Because it'd be totally fine."
"Yeah, I don't feel like walking today. I'm already tired," I replied with a tired sigh and continued to eat the delicious pancakes made by mom.
"Why? What happened? Are you okay?" She asked, worried.
I placed my plate in the sink and poured myself coffee, "Nothing happened, mom. You know how I hate do to anything exercise-related," I laughed for her sake.
She chuckled as well, "That's true. When was the last time you stepped inside a gym? I don't even remember a last time."
I grinned, "Exactly!" I quickly drank my coffee and then we were off to school.
We didn't talk much during the ride. I was thinking about what would happen today. How would Brad behave? Like none of that happened yesterday? Would he continue to bully me? And what about Melissa? How would she behave? I hope she hasn't seen me leave with Brad.
Mom stopped the car in front of the school building, "Call me if you want me to pick you up, okay?"
"Yeah. Bye, love you, mom!" I kissed her check.
She smiled, "Love you too. Now go before you're late."
Laughing quietly, I got out and went into the building. At my locker, I met Kate and Michael. Thankfully, they didn't know that I bunked the last class yesterday.
Kate and I had Biology, so we walked there together. Classes passed in a blur and before we knew it, it was lunch time.
Kate, Michael and I were having lunch and talking when, all of a sudden, the cafeteria door met the wall with a loud bang. I looked up to see that it was Melissa. She was alone, none of her minions in sight. She was wearing a pink miniskirt, a white sleeveless top and high heels. She looked furious; her hands were fisted and an ugly frown was plastered on her face. She stormed towards the popular table where Brad was sitting with other popular kids.
Everyone was looking at her, maybe wondering what made the queen bitch so mad. Everyone but Brad. He just looked up once when she entered and then went back to eating, not paying any attention to her. She came to stand in front of the popular table and screamed at Brad, "Why the hell are you ignoring me, Brad? It is because of that Violet, isn't it? You're cheating on me with her!"
