Violet's POV
.
.
I didn't get to think about whether they know each other or not, because Brad took my hand and led me out of the kitchen and upstairs. It was only when he stumbled slightly at a corner that I realized that he was just as drunk as I was. The way he was looking downstairs, you wouldn't have guessed.
We entered an empty room and surprisingly, I didn't even react when he locked the door. I guess, in my heart, I knew he'd never hurt me.
He took a step forward, "Violet, what are you doing here?"
"I was invited by Isaac," I murmered.
"So, it is true," he said bitterly as he took another step towards me.
I surprised myself when I stepped closer to him, "What is?"
"That you and Isaac are dating," he scowled.
"No," I stood directly before him.
"No?"
I smiled, "No. We're not dating."
"Then? What was that?
"It's not my secret to tell, but I can tell you that we are not together," it was amazing that even drunk I had that much clarity of thought. And that idiotic Ash said that I was a light weight.
"Then why would you do that?" confusion was evident in his voice. He's more expressive while drunk.
"I was just helping him get rid of a crazy admirer," we were almost touching now.
He frowned, "That's odd, but alright. If you say so."
I giggled and rested my hand on his arm, "And how come you're here?"
"Friends," his eyes darkened as he glanced at my hand on his arm.
My own heart beat picked up when I looked into his eyes and suddenly the atmosphere changed. The air felt heavy and charged.
Maybe it was because I was drunk, because the sober-me would never have let myself go like that, but I leaned forward. His eyes dropped to my lips and came back instantly to maintain our eye contact.
Kiss him!
My inner self echoed and I followed.
I leaned closer and closer, but before I reached my target, my eyes widened slightly because he closed the rest of the distance and lightly brushed his lips against mine. A wave of shock and warmth hit me and my eyes drifted close.
So that's how a kiss feels...
My other hand made its way to the back of his neck and I pressed my lips fully to his. He responded immediately and I felt the world around me disappear. His strong arms found their way around my waist, pulling me flush against him.
My body combusted as I felt fireworks going off everywhere. The way his lips moved against mine made me feel like I had suddenly landed on cloud nine.
I had thought that that was the best thing to ever happen to me, but I was proved wrong when Brad gently traced the my lower lip and slipped his tongue into my mouth. The feeling was out of the world and made me arch my body to get closer to him, but it wasn't like there was any space between us.
He tilted my head to the right to deepen the kiss and ran his hand through my hair. His other hand was resting on my back, fingers tracing delicious patterns there.
