"I hear congratulations are in order." Connie said walking up to Elle who was sorting out files in reception.
"Oh, Connie your back and thank you. I see this little fellas got big." Smiled Dr. Gardner.
"So technically I still have my office for one more day."
"Yes of course. I mean, that's still your name on the door." Elle smirked sarcastically.
"Yes that's a very good point. I'll go and use my office right now." Connie emphasised on the 'my' and walked away into her office with Joey.

"This is Kai Peters, 16, involved In a gang fight. Stab wounds to the left arm and right leg. Laceration to the head. Has been given 5 of morphing, but won't let us give him anything else." Ian wheeled the patient into resus. "Ok on 3, 123." The team lifted him onto a bed and immediately started working on him. "Alright Kai I'm Dr. Hardy, I'll be looking after you today along with the rest of the team. I'm just going to look at your wound." Ethan went to remove the bandages that were trying to soak up the blood on Kai's arm.
"Nah man, get off. I shouldn't even be here I told them I'm fine." The boy flinched his arm out of the way of Ethan and went to stand up.
"Woah, ok you need to calm down. Just relax Kai, we're here to help you now lie back down and let us do our job." Jacob lightly gestured for the boy to lie back down.
"Who the fuck are you? Look, If I don't get out now then they're only gonna find me here and trust me it won't just be me getting hurt." Kai sat up holding his injured arm.
"Nobody is getting through those doors, don't worry. We'll call for extra security to be on all entrances. Now will you let us help you?" Jacob said calmly and professionally. The boy mumbled a "fine" and lied back down on the bed.
"Jacob, can you apply pressure to the wound on his leg whilst I sort out the arm." Dr. Hardy removed the bandages on the arm, causing Kai to wince every now and then. Jacob applied a lot of pressure to the leg to try and stop the bleed.

Connie sat in her office rather bored. Joey was sleeping so she couldn't even do anything with him. She stood up and opened the office door.
"Noel? Would you mind looking after Joey for a few minutes?" Connie picked up the car seat that Joey was sleeping in and moved it behind Noel's desk.
"Oh well I'm quite busy so-"
"Thanks Noel, see you in a bit." Connie smiled, making her way into resus.

"Sats are dropping. Let's get some oxygen and more morphing please." Ethan ordered. "He's losing too much blood, we need to get to theatre asap."
"Oh, Connie could you go and inform security to not let anybody in without ID and to check for weaponry." Asked Robyn, giving the patient some more drugs.
"No Connie you stay here, I'll go." Jacob didn't want Connie to be anywhere near a place where the gang might come.
"What's the big deal? I'll go, your working." Connie frowned. Jacob had already whipped off his gloves, he was not taking no for an answer.
"Too late, you take over from me." Jacob left resus quickly before anymore questions were asked. He knew what Kai meant about more than one person will get hurt; they had weapons which they clearly didn't hesitate to use on Kai.

"Excuse me, security." Jacob jogged up to the security guard sitting in the security office.
"Alright mate, what's the problem?" The man stood up folding his arms. Out of the corner of Jacob's eye, a young man strolled into the hospital with a hood up over his baseball cap.
"Come with me." Jacob didn't want to be stereotypical about the kid, but couldn't help feeling like he had something to do with the gang. The butch security guard followed Jacob out of the office.
"Hey?" Jacob called after the kid who turned round straight away.
"What?" The hood still concealed his face, but his attitude was obvious.
"Are you here to visit someone or are you sick?" Asked Jacob playing dumb, with the security guard observing the scene.
"Visiting, why? You think just cos I'm wearing a hoodie I'm dangerous." The boy kissed his teeth.
"No, no of course not. Who is it your here to see? I may be able to help you."
"Kai Peters, but I'm warning you big guy, if you keep treating me like I'm dangerous, then it might just turn out that i am."
"Oi, id watch it if I were you. Keep talking like that and you'll be thrown out by your ear-lobes." Big Dan stepped in. The boy lifted his head and puffed his chest out.
"Woah, easy mate. Nobody's getting thrown out. Now the patient you want to see is in a bad condition at the moment, so you'll have to wait in the waiting area." Jacob calmed the situation.
"Good." The kid mumbled under his breath about the condition of the patient.

"Ok, we've stopped the bleed, as soon as theatre is ready we'll get him down there. Well done guys." Connie pulled off her gloves and threw them away. She walked out of resus to find out where Jacob had got to.
She saw Jacob talking to a teenager with a security guard. "Mrs. Beauchamp? Are you ever going to take your son back?" Asked Noel.
"Oh sorry Noel, give me five more minutes." Connie power walked over to Jacob.
"Everything alright over here?" Asked Connie.
"Right I think you and me need to take a step outside. You can't just come into a hospital and demand everything with that attitude." Jacob scolded the boy, not taking any notice of Connie. Big Dan's radio signalled through to him and he had to leave right away.
"Fine big guy. If you think your so tough." He began to walk out of the hospital with Jacob following him closely. He was going to get to the bottom of this gang case. Connie followed Jacob knowing it was a bad idea, but the sound of Noel's voice stopped her. "Mrs. Beauchamp, I'm here to work not babysit. The kid won't stop crying." Connie huffed, turning around.
"Thank you Noel, and his name is Joey not Kid." She picked up the car seat from the receptionist.

Outside, Jacob noticed that there was more than one hooded teenager. About three of them sat on bikes doing wheelies around the car park. Another four sat on a bench smoking. When they saw that their mate had walked out of the hospital with a nurse, they were not happy. "Oi! Chad, who's this guy then, I thought you said you'd easily get in." A boy named Franklin threw his fag on the floor and approached Jacob.
Jacob knew that if he tried anything stupid then he was far too outnumbered to get out of it unscathed. "Look, I'm not here to fight, but if you don't all leave right now then I'm calling the police."
To Jacob's surprise, the gang just laughed in his face. "We're not leaving 'till you let me see my boy." Said Damian.
"I've told you, he's in theatre and I'm not letting a gang sit in a hospital intimidating patients." This angered the gang a lot. Chad pulled out a pen knife from his back pocket and flicked it open. Jacob's eyes met the weapon in his hand, "oh ok, so you think that by pulling out a small knife I'm going to let you in. I told you I'm not here to fight."
The knife inched closer towards Jacob's abdomen, but he didn't flinch once. The gang knew that if they started to beat him up now, it would cause a huge scene. Although, they could just stab and run. "You better leave now big guy... Before you have your own blood on your shirt."
"I'm not afraid of some little kids who think they're hard by threatening innocent people." Jacob smirked at them.

Connie walked out of the hospital, holding Joey in his car seat. As soon as she saw the amount of kids she froze. What the heck was Jacob doing? He always has to get himself involved in the police's problems. "Jacob!?" Connie kept walking towards him. Everyone was so busy today that nobody had noticed that there was a gang in the car park.

He recognised her beautiful voice. No. This was far to dangerous. Why did she have to see if everything was OK? "No, Connie stay back. I'm fine. We're just talking." Jacob turned his head to the side so that he could see her. The blade was concealed by Jacob's body.
"Right, I'm calling the police." Connie knew that a gang sitting around in her car park was the worst thing to be happening. However, saying what she said was the worst thing she could've done.
"Connie no! Leave it!" Chad noticed Jacob had turned around so he kneed him in the back twice. Jacob fell to his knees, outnumbered. "Jacob!" Connie screamed when somebody came up from behind, concealing her mouth with his hand. Members of the gang were surrounding Jacob, as he struggled to fight back. He was being kicked in the ribs and head continuously until the corners of his eyes began to turn black.
Connie dropped Joey's car seat, as her phone was yanked out of her hand and chucked away onto the pavement. Damian finished Jacob off with a stab in his right side. He yelled in pain and Connie tried to scream, but couldn't, as somebody's hand still prevented her from doing so.
The gang realised that soon someone will come and find them, so they let go of Connie and decided to get an early escape. They all jumped on bikes and cycled away laughing together, as they left a critically injured innocent man lying behind on the pavement.
