Helpless

"Jacob? Jacob? Talk to me, please." Connie moved over to Jacob's side on the floor. His eyes were shut and blood trickled down his head, but she was more worried about the blood that poured from his side. Connie desperately tried to stop the bleed whilst calling for help as loud as possible.
After about 3 minutes, Jez spotted the pair on the floor. "Ian, grab a trolley, quick. This don't look good." Jez grabbed a med bag and ran over to Connie.
"It's Jacob, he's been KOed and stabbed in his side by a gang." Ian wheeled a trolley over and they carefully got Jacob on a board to put him on the trolley.
He was rushed into the hospital and Connie didn't relieve the pressure to the wound once. She was determined. Losing Jacob was not an option.
"Oh my god, Jacob!" Robyn gasped, clapping a hand to her mouth, as they entered the ED. Connie began to demand orders off of her staff immediately, whilst Ian gave Joey to Jez to look after. "Dr. Gardner, Robyn and David with me." Jacob was wheeled into resus, still unconscious.
He was attached to the machines straight away. Connie noticed how his SATs were dropping along with his heart rate. "Let's get some oxygen, and Robyn book a CT." Fortunately, she had managed to slow down the bleed, but Jacob had still lost a significant amount of blood.
"He's arrested." Elle began chest compressions and that's when it really sunk in to Connie... She might lose the love of her life.
"Come on Jacob." Connie begged. Elle had got Jacob's heart back. It looks like Jacob was determined to fight for his life too. "Good work Dr. Gardner."
"Mrs. Beauchamp theatre is free now." Robyn told Connie.
"Ok, let's go." The team rushed Jacob up to theatre whilst he was stable enough to travel.

Connie watched on anxiously, as the surgeons prepped Jacob for surgery. Tears pricked the back of her eyes ; she was tired of holding it all together, so she let them fall down her cheeks. They trickled faster and more frequently down her face. All she could do was wait. Feeling helpless and absolutely terrified.
