Caught in the act part 2

Grace ran downstairs, disgusted with her mother for going behind her back. How was she supposed to know if she did this every time Grace went out.

Back upstairs, Connie didn't know what to do. Grace was going to hate her after this. "Shit! I've got to go after her Jacob. I need to explain everything." Connie got up and walked out of the room. Jacob could only sense that it will fall apart all over again. He sighed, he had to tell Grace how much they loved each other, so that's exactly what he was going to do. Jacob walked downstairs, closing Connie's bedroom door behind him. 
"Gracie-" Connie sat down next to her on the sofa.
"No! Just go away mum! You promised me and I bet you've been doing this every time I go out." Grace couldn't look at her mum as she focused her eyes on the coffee table in front of her.
"No Grace I can't do this anymore!" Connie was fed up of her life being manipulated by her little girl. Grace looked up at Connie in surprise of her tone. "I love you and I love Jacob. I need both of you in my life and that doesn't mean I'll push you out, because I've learnt from my mistakes Grace and I promise you that I'm never losing you again." Connie stood up and noticed Jacob leant against the door way of the living room.
"Then it has to be your job." Grace said quietly.
"What?" Connie was confused. She couldn't give up her job.
"If you want both of us... Then it's your job that must go."
"Grace, if your mum gives up her job, the ED will fall apart. She's one of the best doctors in the country." Jacob butted into the conversation. Grace looked up and glared at him. Connie noticed this and it pissed her off even more, knowing that all of this had never been Jacob's fault.
"Grace don't look at him like that. All Jacob has ever done is try and make me happy. Can't you just accept that?" Connie begged. Grace turned her head to look at her mum. She wanted to get as far away from this as possible, so she got up and made her way to the door. "Grace where are you going." Connie chased after her.
"Back to my friends house and don't worry, you'll still have the whole night to have sex, because I'm not coming back until the morning." Grace pulled open the front door.

"Grace, please don't leave like this... Can't we just figure something out." Connie begged.
"No mum! It's never going to work out, you just can't have all three." Grace stepped out of the house. 
Connie felt defeated resting her head on Jacob's chest. "She'll come round. I promise." Jacob soothed, hugging her close. Connie wasn't quite sure, but she knew what she had to do to make everything right.
