Back in business

2 weeks later

Jacob strolled into the ED with a cocky smile on his face after having a rather boring 2 weeks off. "Good to see you back Jacob." Robyn smiled at him as he joined her at reception.

"Thank you Robyn, it's good to be back. Rita what have you got for me today then?"
"Well you can do the usual cubicle rounds this morning seen as your so eager to get to work." She said with a smile. Urgh, Jacob thought, he hated the usual rounds.

2 hours later
Jacob took his first break of the day, as it was relatively quiet. He grabbed a coffee and headed outside into the spring air.

Connie spotted Jacob on a bench and hesitantly decided to talk to him. "Staff nurse Masters, good to see you back." She said standing in front of him.
Jacob looked up surprised to see that she had actually spoken to him. He thought she was avoiding him all morning. "Mrs. B, good to see you too."
"I just wanted to apologise. I shouldn't of snapped and I-"
"Connie it's fine. I get it. Friends?" He held out his hand for her to shake.
She shook his hand and smiled, "Yeah of course."

The sound of sirens broke their conversation as Jacob jumped up from the bench, determined to get some real work done with this new patient. Connie followed closely behind him clicking her heels step by step.

"Alex Perry, 15, fell off his BMX at approximately 20 miles per hour down a hill. Suspected broken wrist and leg. Neck has been cleared, but we are not sure about concussion." Ian said rolling the patient through the doors into the ED.
"Ok through to cubicles." The paramedics and the others helped the teen onto the bed. Connie and Jacob worked together on the patient until he was stable and getting casted up.

Jacob had got changed and was about to leave when Connie caught his attention. He could hear her walking up the stairs in her expensive high heels. He turned around and admired how beautiful she was even from behind. Once Connie had turned the corner and was out of sight, Jacob sighed and walked out of the ED.
