Chapter 9

Aaron's POV

We head out for our first lockdown since Zak has come back I hadn't been over a lot I know I told Zak that I would try to be friends with Mallory but I decided to let them have time before we leave tomorrow. I could tell now that I was giving her a fair chance that she wasn't using Zak and she really had feelings for him Zak and I had been friends for years and I can't remember ever seeing him like this if Mallory is what made him happy then I would be happy for him.

Zak's POV

I wake up and look over at Mallory she's still sleeping her long brown hair is falling in her face I gently move her hair away from her face and lay next to her. I woke up next to her every morning but this morning was different tomorrow I would be leaving for my first lockdown since we started dating I knew we could handle the distance because we made it two weeks apart when she was back home selling her house I was just worried about leaving her alone. I look down at her as she starts moving around she wakes up and looks up at me "Hey Zak." I smile "Good morning sweetie." She curls up closer to me that whole day I stay with her I make her breakfast then we lay on the couch together with Gracie in the floor not that far from us, Mal looks at me then kisses my throat and buries her face against my chest "I'm going to miss you Zak." I wrap my arms around her and kiss her head "I'll miss you too sweetie." I cook every meal that day and everything we do it's done together we stay on the couch and even sit by the poll we don't talk a lot we only say what's needed to be said and that night I stay awake as long as I can I look over at her "I love you Mal." I fall asleep with her in my arms and I don't wake up once.

Mallory's POV

The next morning, I wake up and go downstairs and see Zak's bags by the door he was leaving today I look up and see Zak walking over to me he smiles when he sees me but it isn't one of his rare real smiles I walk over and wrap my arms around his waist and lay my head on his chest he pulls me to him and wraps his arms around me. I was going to miss Zak a lot while he was gone I kiss him and wrap my arms around his neck he kisses back and runs his hand down my back I don't know how long the two of us stand there but sooner than I want I hear a car horn from outside and a knock on the door. Zak looks at the door then looks back at me "I'll see you soon sweetie I'll call you every day I promise." I nod my head "I'll miss you Zakula." Then one of the real rare smiles appear on his face "I'll miss you and I love you Mallory." He hardly ever called me that so I knew that he meant what he was saying. "I love you too Zak." He kisses me again and I kiss back then I hear Aaron yelling through the door "Yo G come one we have to go our flight leaves in an hour." Zak kisses my head "I love you sweetie." "I love you too." He grabs his bags then walks outside I stand at the door and watch him get in with the others and a few minutes later he was gone I sigh and take a deep breath this was going to be a really long week.
