Chapter 15

Zak's POV

I stretch out on the bed pull out my phone scroll through Twitter for a while answer some fans then go to my contacts scroll until I find Mal's number then I call her she answers a few minutes later. "Hey Z did you make it okay?" "I'm at the hotel now how are you and Gracie?" I hear her let out a small laugh "We are good we played catch after you left then I went to the mall for a while but now I'm back home fixing to order a pizza then after that I think I might go for a swim." I was happy she was having a good time but I really missed her and Gracie they were my girls and I really wanted to be with them "I miss you sweetie." "I miss you too Zakula." I smile I really wanted to be with her right now but I couldn't "So what are we investigating this time?" "This week we are heading to a Sanatorium." She makes a humming noise "Sounds like an interesting place I hope you get some good evidence." It made me feel good that she was really interested and that she cared about my job lots of past women just cared about the money part of it. "Thanks sweetie I'm always hopeful that we will." "Just be careful okay Zak?" I smile at her concern for me "I will I better go work starts tomorrow sweetie." "I love you Zak." "I love you too Mal." We hang up then I get up and walk out of the room to find the rest of the crew so we can go get something to eat.

Mallory's POV

I feed Gracie again after I get off the phone with Zak and a little later my pizza arrives I sit down in the kitchen and start eating then let out a sigh I missed Zak a lot and I had spent most of my day with AJ but I could only keep my thoughts occupied for so long. I eat a few slices of pizza then put it away for later cold pizza the breakfast of champions I go change then walk outside to Zak's pool I test the water thanks to the Vegas heat the water felt great I get in the pool and stare up at the sky and see the bright colors of the Vegas sunset it was beautiful and I had never seen anything like it before. I stay in the pool for a while go inside dry off put on one of Zak's shirts and a pair of my shorts then walk back in the living room and start looking for something to watch I browse every channel then stop I was in luck Jaws was playing and the movie had just started I sit the remote down then Gracie jumps in my lap then lays her head down. I sigh and think to myself one day with Zak gone six more days to go this was going to be an extremely long week.

Kevin's POV

After I get a call from Nick who was freaking out it takes a while but I finally get him to calm down once he's calm he explains to me that he talked to AJ and that he was in Vegas I knew where AJ was I told him to head to Vegas but there was one thing Nick told me that I didn't know. AJ was spending time with Mallory I knew they were friends but I didn't know they were so close Zak was probably gone so that's they were hanging out together I find AJ's number then call him I wait and he answers "Hey Kev how's the honeymoon going?" "It's going great how's Vegas?" "It's going great Kev lots to do plus I've been hanging out with Mal a lot too ghostbuster is out of town again." "You know they are a couple right?" He lets out a sigh "Yeah I know Kevin but she's upset and alone he hardly ever spends time with her" His voice changed when he started talking about Mal and I knew what was going on right away and this probably wasn't going to end well Zak hated me when Vanessa picked me whatever he and Mallory had together was real and I really didn't know what would happen if he lost another girl to someone else in our group but I had to be sure first. "AJ do you like her?" He's silent and I'm hopeful but then he answers my question "Yeah Kev I think I do." Damn this wasn't going to end well this time it would be Zak against AJ.
