Chapter 40

Nick G'S POV

I arrive in Vegas a few days after Mal and I have a lengthy conversation on the phone and I want to know how it went with Zak meeting her parents I sit and wait for her at the Starbucks we have been meeting at for months and she's late which is unusual for her she's never late. I check my phone then text her and call her a few times but she doesn't answer I leave Starbucks then go to Zak's house I knock on the door but no one answers I keep knocking but no one comes to the door a white blur comes running from behind the house it's Gracie she keeps barking at me and I follow her around the back into the house. I walk in the house and go through the living room I stop when I see Mallory in the floor I walk over and see blood staining her shirt I shake her and she looks up at me "Nick?" I nod "I'm here." She moves a bit and the stain on her shirt starts to get bigger "The spirit isn't happy with me right now." Zak's attachment I knew about them and now they were attacking Mallory I pick her up then carry her outside and put her in my car and drive to the hospital once the doctors and nurses take her into one of the emergency rooms I pull out her phone then take a deep breath then call Zak.

Zak's POV

I look away from the footage we are editing and going over when my phone starts ringing I look down and see Mal's name on the screen I stand up then walk away and answer the phone. "Hey sweetie how's it going with Gracie and Athena?" I stop and look around I haven't seen him in a long time I wanted to know why he had my girlfriend's phone "Why do have her phone?" "She's in the hospital Zak she got attacked at your house we were supposed to meet at Starbucks I've actually been her friend for a few months now." I grab my keys then leave "I'm on my way you stay with her Nick." I hang up then get in my car and leave I don't pay any attention to how fast I'm going my main focus is getting to the hospital and I make it there without even scratching my car. I walk in and see Nick sitting in the waiting room I walk over and he looks up at me "Hi Zak." I nod "Hey Nick." I sit down next to him and Nick starts to tell me everything about how they became friends I wasn't mad at all not even at Mal for not telling me about this I sit and wait for a doctor to walk out and tell us something Nick looks at me "She will be fine Zak." I nod she was strong and I knew that she would be.

Mallory's POV

I look over at Zak who is sitting in a chair next to the hospital bed I'm in I bite my lip because he isn't saying anything and I'm worried that he may be mad because I didn't tell him I was friend with Nick. He sits on the edge of the bed "I'm so sorry I didn't think things would ever get this bad I talked to Nick and I'm okay with the two of your being friends." I wrap my arms around his neck and lay my head on his shoulder "I love you Zak Bagans." "I love you too sweetie." Zak starts running his fingers up and down my back and plays with my hair I was relieved that he wasn't mad at me for any of this he pulls away then kisses me I kiss back and try to pull Zak closer but he stops me. "Not in a hospital I'm not into public activities plus you have been discharged we can go home." Going home sounded like a really good idea to me but there was something I wanted to do first. "Zak?" He looks at me "Yeah sweetie?" "Can we stop and get something to eat before we go home?' He nods then kisses my head "Of course we can get something to eat." I get off the hospital bed take Zak's hand and we walk out of the hospital and I wonder where Nick is and if we could still be friends.

Kevin's POV

The song Incomplete that AJ had written would be released in three days I had a feeling that Mallory should at least have a heads up about this I wasn't going to tell Zak though that would cause nothing but a lot of trouble. I walk out of the room and pull out my phone and call her I wasn't sure on how I should tell her this "Hey Kevin what's going on?" "Hey Mal how's Vegas life?" "It's great I love it here." I take a deep breath I couldn't keep it from her forever now was a good time to tell her. "I know that you and AJ were together for a while and when you went back to Zak it bothered him and he wrote a song for you that's going to be released in three days." I hear her gasp "He wrote a song for me?" "He loves you Mal the song he wrote is incomplete you should listen to it and I think you should try and talk to AJ it might help and I know you love Zak." "Thanks for letting me know Kev I'm sorry for hurting AJ I never wanted to do that." I knew that she was telling the truth she wouldn't hurt him on purpose plus Mal and AJ weren't really right for each other he would find someone who was right for him and Mal had Zak. "I know you didn't mean it Mal." We talk a few more minutes then hang up she knew about the song now.
