Chapter 19

Mallory's POV

Tonight was my first date with AJ I was nervous I wanted to give him a shot but I just hope he knew that I still needed time I liked AJ he was a great guy but I was still in love with Zak even after what he did. I pull out my phone to see if I have any calls or messages but I don't I look at the picture of the two of us I really missed him and I was tempted to call him I take a deep breath then slowly exhale and start getting ready for my date. Since this was my first date with AJ I decide to try something new I pull a strapless green dress out of the closet put it on then pair it with a pair of gold heels once I'm dressed I walk in the bathroom and start to put on my makeup I don't put on a lot but I decide on a mix of green and gold eyeshadow I look in the mirror and I'm stunned by the person looking back at me the girl in the mirror is new to me. I start biting my lip Zak and I would match with black or I would wear red because that was one of his favorite colors I shake my head I agreed to give AJ a chance and with Zak on my mind it wouldn't be fair I grab my phone throw it in my bag then walk out of the room to meet AJ.

AJ'S POV

I was actually nervous about tonight I couldn't believe she had agreed to give me a chance I look up as she walks in the room she looked amazing in green she smiles when she sees me and I smile back. She walks over to me and I look at her "You look beautiful." She smiles again "Thanks AJ." "You're welcome are you ready to go?" She nods and I take her hand and we walk out of the hotel I didn't want things to be awkward and I didn't want to pile on any pressure so I was going to keep tonight simple we get in my car and I pull out of the parking lot and start driving down the road. I look over and we talk for a while about different things mainly I ask questions and she answers them I try to crack her but it doesn't work she keeps me locked out but she slowly lets me in little by little a little while later we arrive at a restaurant we go inside and eat then after dinner we go for a walk in the park. She stops and looks up at me "I had a great time with you tonight AJ." I smile "I had a great time too baby." She kisses me and wraps her arms around my neck I kiss back and wrap my arms around her waist tonight had been a really great night and I was definitely falling for her.

Zak's POV

It takes a few days but with the help of Billy I'm finally able to track down the last place Mallory went and I was able to find the hotel she was staying at I had found my girl now was the chance to get her back there were a few things I needed to do first. I get dressed in my usual black clothing fix my hair in the Zak fin grab her Pride and Prejudice book then walk out of the house go outside get in my car then drive off, before I could go to her there was one more stop I needed to make I put the book in the seat next to me then drive to the animal shelter I help out with when I get there I ask if I can go see the dogs and puppies. I start looking this would be a good gift for Mal plus Gracie could have a brother or sister I walk through and look in every pen finally I find the perfect puppy for Mal I bend down in front of the pen and the puppy walks over to me I hold my hand out and it starts licking my fingers through the bars. One of the volunteers walks over and let's me hold the puppy I learn it's a female Mallory's dog and Gracie's little sister was tiny little Rottweiler puppy I adopt her then have them give her all the shots and things that she needs then I take the new addition to the Bagans family then I leave to go find Mal.

Kevin's POV

Our honeymoon was going to be over soon and in less than a week I was going to surprise Vanessa with a trip to Vegas so she could see Mal again we could be married for a month soon and I was already hiding something from her I hadn't told Vanessa about AJ having feelings for Mal because I know that it would bring back some memories and possibly cause trouble for everyone. I look at Vanessa who is standing on the beach in the sunset, she looked beautiful and I couldn't be any happier that she was my wife I loved Vanessa more than anything I considered Zak and AJ two very close friends so I wanted both of them to be happy but they couldn't be happy with the same girl when she had to choose I knew that she would probably pick Zak you could tell they belonged together as for AJ she might care about him but they were very different from each other so I didn't know if they would work out together. Vanessa looks at me and smiles I get up then walk over to her and wrap my arms around her waist then kiss her she kisses back and runs her hands through my hair my life couldn't get any better and I wanted all of my friends to find a girl who made them as happy as Vanessa made me.
