I had been in Vegas for about a week I take a deep breath and breathe in as the hot Vegas sun washes over me I keep walking through the small street lined with people walking in and out of the various stores. I stop when I see long brown hair, green eyes and I hear her laugh and within seconds I know that it's her I smile to myself then walk up behind her and tap her on the shoulder she turns around and looks at me "AJ?" I smile "The one and only baby." She smiles then hugs me and wraps her arms around my neck I hug back then wrap my arms around her waist she pulls away then looks up at me. "What are you doing in Vegas are the rest of the guys with you?" "I'm here checking on a few things and nah the rest of the guys aren't here with me what about you where's this boyfriend you have?" "Zak left yesterday to go film a new episode of Ghost Adventures." I nod my head she was dating the ghost buster I know the guy had helped Kevin and Vanessa out but he had caused a lot of trouble between them at one time too but I wasn't going to say anything I cough and look back at her "How about lunch?" She nods her head "Yeah I'd like that." I nod my head then we walk down the street together.

Vanessa's POV
I hadn't heard from Mal recently I wondered how things were going for her and Zak plus AJ called asking about her so maybe he had called and they had talked I pick up my phone then find her number and call her a few minutes later she answers "Hey Ness how's the honeymoon going?" "It's going great Kevin just left to get us something to eat." "Is lover boy managing to keep his shirt on since the wedding?" I laugh "Yes Mal he is how's Zak doing?" "He left yesterday to head to a lockdown you know how it goes." I could tell by her voice she missed Zak a lot I was glad that the two of them had each other "He will be home before you know it and I'm sure he will call you as soon as he can." She lets out a sigh "I know Ness I just really miss him." "I know so what are you up to?" "Having lunch with a backstreet boy." "Ah you ran into AJ then well that gives you someone to hang out with while Zak is gone." I hear her laugh "Yeah he's fun he's a good friend." "Well there you go then just don't let AJ get you into trouble and don't yell at him he's still a little scared of you." She goes quiet "One-time Ness one time I yell at the Backstreet Boys and no one will let me forget it about it." I laugh "Bye Mal." "Bye Ness." We both hang up and I put my phone back down.
Zak's POV
I walk in my hotel room that would be my home for the next week I drop my bags in the floor walk over to the bed and collapse on it and take a deep breath then close my eyes. I stay in this position for a few minutes and think about a lot of different things the lockdown itself, the walk through and the interviews we will have to film and do plus the other parts of the show we have to film too then my thoughts go somewhere else they go thousands of miles away back home to Vegas to one person I pull my phone out of my jeans and start scrolling through my pictures of us I stop on the one of us that I took outside of the Riviera Hotel. She looked beautiful and she was smiling then there I was next to her dressed in all black standing over her like I was guarding her this was the first time I noticed how much taller her I was but I had a smile on my face I quickly find her number push call after a few minutes I finally her voice "Hey Zakula." I smile at the nickname she has given me "Hey sweetie how are you? I miss you." "I'm good Zak just fed Gracie and fixing to eat something too I heard from Vanessa today." We stay on the phone talking for hours until I'm interrupted by a banging on the door then I hear Aaron yell "Yo Zak let's eat!!" I let out a sigh "Apparently Aaron is about to die of starvation if we don't go eat now." She lets out laugh on the other side of the phone "I'll talk to you later Zak I miss you." "I miss you too Mal I'll call you later tonight I love you." "I love you too Zak." I smile then hang up feeling more pumped and like myself than before I put my phone back in my pocket then walk out of my room and meet up with Aaron and the rest of the crew.
Mallory's POV
That night after I eat something and waste about an hour watching TV I open the door and walk outside then sit in one of the chairs by Zak's pool I look up at the sky at the moon and the stars and let out a loud sigh. I hear the clicking of claws I look over and see Gracie she walks over and lays her head in my lap I start running my hands through her soft fur Gracie was good company but she couldn't have a conversation as I'm sitting by Zak's pool the noises of Vegas and the slow movement of the wind blowing the water in the pool is all I hear I realize how alone I am. Kevin and Vanessa are away on their honeymoon, Zak and the crew were away for the lockdown, even though we were friends sort of the rest of the backstreet boys were back at home and AJ was here in Vegas doing something for the group I let out a sigh I've always hear that loneliness comes in wave if that was true then tonight I was drowning in it.
Zak's POV
By the time I get back to my room it's late and I'm tired I know I should get some sleep but there is one thing I have to do before I get some sleep I take a shower then walk over and get in the bed and call Mallory again I wait and a little while later she answers. "Hey Zak." I lay back on the bed "Hey sweetie how are things at home?" "It's really quiet Gracie is asleep and I'm just laying in bed how are you?" I sigh "Things are good we just made it back from eating and you know Aaron just had to stop at Starbucks." "It sounds like you've had a long night." "I have and filming for the new episode starts tomorrow." "Everything will be fine the show will be great as always you should get some sleep I miss you." Her voice changed on the last three words to a tone she only used on me when we were in bed together late at night my body stiffens and I close my eyes "I miss you too Mal." We stay on the phone for hours I start dozing off and I hear soft breathing coming from Mallory's side of the phone I smile as I realize that she fell asleep I hang up hook my phone up on the charger get back in bed and fall asleep a few minutes later.
