Chapter 12

Zak's POV

After another lockdown which went well for our first lockdown since our extended break we caught some good EVP'S, caught some footsteps on audio and some shadow figures now it was two days later I was finally back home in Vegas but I could feel the presence of my lockdown hangover. I really did want to see Mal again I just hope I didn't say or do anything that could possibly hurt her feelings I pull out my keys unlock the door and walk in the house I drop my bags in the floor and right away I'm greeted by a happy Gracie I give her some attention and play with her for a while I hear footsteps then look up and see Mallory standing in the room I walk over to her and wrap my arms around her. She wraps her arms around my waist then lays her head on my chest we stand there for a while I press my lips against her head I didn't realize I missed her so much my lockdown hangover was in full force but I didn't want to let go of her she pulls away and looks up at me and before she gets the chance I kiss her she kisses back and runs one of her hands down the back of my neck I look down at her and run my hands down her back and I feel her hands going under my shirt. I pull off my shirt and toss it in the floor she leans forward and starts kissing down my neck I pulls off her shirt and toss it in the same direction I threw mine then I run my hands down her waist and kisser her collarbone then finally I speak for the first time since I've walked in the house I meet her eyes "I missed you." She smiles "I missed you too I'm happy you're home Zak." Her hands go to my belt and jeans and I know this is one welcome home I'm going to enjoy for hours.

Mallory's POV

I wake up a few hours later wrapped in sheets and tangled up with Zak I smile to myself then start running my fingertips down his arms he rolls over and tightens his grip on me then pulls me closer to him I start running my fingers through his hair "Are you enjoying yourself?" I let out a gasp and jump when I look up and notice that Zak is watching me he smiles and I feel his hand start going up and down my back he's distant and not really my Zak yet but her would be back to normal in a few days hopefully. Zak puts his hands on the side of my face and kisses me "I'm going to go out for a hike I'll take Gracie with me but I won't be gone long okay?" I nod my head then sit up and watch Zak get ready he walks over to me and kisses my head "I'll be back soon." I nod my head "I'll see you soon Zak." He turns and looks at me "I love you Mal." "I love you too Zak." Later after Zak leaves I feel the familiar burning sensation only this time on my back I get out of bed and walk over to the mirror and see three red scratch marks.

Zak's POV

I take a deep breath and relax as Mother Nature takes over me I look over at Gracie walking next to me coming to Red Rock Canyon always helped with my lockdown hangovers I sigh and feel my phone in my pocket my thoughts go back home to Mallory. It's not that I didn't want her to come with me because I really did want her to experience this with me some time since it was one of my favorite places but not now not during this I sit down on a rock then lean back and lose my eyes and take in the sun and slowly open myself up then get in touch with Mother Nature. I don't know how much time passes when I open my eyes again I notice the sun has moved I see Gracie sitting next to me I look down at my watch to see what time it is I've been here for three hours I must I have fell asleep I stand up and stretch "Come on Gracie.". A little while later I get home and check three different rooms before I finally find her she looks up at me I walk over to her then hug her and she hugs back then wraps her arms around my neck she pulls away then looks up at me "Feeling better?" "Yeah I do." Then I realize I really am feeling better than I was before I left earlier today part of it was from my trip to Red Rock Canyon the other was from being with her.

AJ'S POV

Four days go by before I hear from Mallory again after I hear from her we meet up and the park and start walking around I look over at her "Ghostbuster back in town?" A smile appears on her face "Yeah he's been back for about a week now but he's busy with the show today he's with part of his crew doing editing and things like that for the show." I nod my head she might be smiling but she doesn't sound like she usually does if I had just gotten back four days ago I would be spending as much time with her as possible but I wasn't her boyfriend either. I let out a sigh and stick my hands in my pockets I wasn't a fan of Zak at all but Mallory was my friend so I wasn't going to say anything that would make her mad at me because I really liked spending time with her Mallory bumps me in the side with her elbow I look over at her and she's smiling I smile back and we keep walking around the park I look over at her and start thinking to myself. I didn't like Zak I was pissed because he wasn't spending time with Mal was I starting to have feelings for her? I look over at her again that was impossible we were just friends right?
