Chapter 45

Nick G'S POV

"So what's new with you and Zak?" Mallory takes a deep breath then looks up at me "He wants me to go on a lockdown with them and it will be the next season but I'm scared to death Nick." I know what it was like to go on an investigation and there was always a chance something could go wrong I look over at her. "Have you talked to Zak about this?" She shakes her head "No I don't want to let him down you know how much this means to him I want to do this because I love him but I know during the lockdown he's a different person." I nod Zak was my best friend at one point and now we were close to being friends again so I wasn't sure on how I should do this should I hug her or rub her back I put my arm around her shoulder. "I know that you are scared Mal but I think you should talk to Zak going on a lockdown is about trusting people that you are with." She nods then looks at me "Thank you Nick I'll talk to Zak and tell him how I feel." I knew about the lockdown plus I was married with two daughters and a beautiful wife so I also knew a thing or two about relationships. "Good not that I don't like you being here because you are a great friend but you should talk to Zak." "Thanks Nick I'll see you later." She gets up then leaves and I knew I was right about all of it.

Mallory's POV

I walk in the house and see Zak sitting on the couch I put my stuff on the counter and kick off my shoes then walk over and sit in his lap he wraps his arms around me and I wrap my arms around his neck and lay my head on his chest. He kisses my head and I kiss the side of his neck and close my eyes and take in the moment as Zak starts rubbing my back "How did your visit go with Nick?" "It was good I like spending time with him he's a really good friend." Zak makes a humming noise "I'm glad the two of you get along you need to have friends too." I smile then run my fingers up and down Zak's arms then I hear Zak's voice again. "I love you Mal." I smile and curl up even closer to Zak "I love you too Zak." We sit on the couch for a little while and I hear his breathing slow down I look up and see that he's sleeping I would love to spend every day with Zak like this but I knew this wasn't what our relationship was about we both enjoyed these moments as long as Zak and I loved each other what we did together didn't matter. I know Nick said I should talk to him and I would but it would be later I yawn and fall asleep in Zak's arms.

Zak's POV

I yawn then move around on the couch then open my eyes I look around and see Gracie curled up in the floor with Athena next to her chewing on one of her toys I look down in my arms and see Mallory still sleeping I move the hair away that had fallen in her face. She always looked peaceful when she was sleeping and I knew that her going on a lockdown could change that she could start having nightmares and I didn't want that for her but the crew thought it was a good idea, and she wanted to go with me but there was one concern I had that I hadn't voiced yet and that was my fans. They were supportive but they voiced their opinions and would say just about anything I was worried about how they would react to her coming on the show and the fact that she was my girlfriend I didn't want to receive any hate or negativity because I would stand up for her and defend her especially from the fans. She yawns and stretches in my arms then she sits up and looks at me and I smile at her "Hey sleeping beauty." "Hey Zakula." She kisses me and wraps her arms around my neck I kiss back then push her back on the couch I knew I wanted her with me on the lockdown just like I wanted her on my side in this life and in any others there might be.

Aaron's POV

After we load the RV Zak walks over and starts talking to Bacon I walk over and look at Mallory then she looks up at me. "Hey Aaron." "Hi Mal is everything okay?" She sighs and looks at me again "I'm telling you this as a friend so please don't tell Zak I told you this, I'm scared to death to be going on this lockdown with all of you I've seen what has happened to you guys what if that happens to me?" I look at her Mallory meant a lot to Zak so I knew he wouldn't let anything happen to her since Zak was my best friend I was going to help. I look at her "I will stay close during the lockdown if you feel anything happening to you tell me I won't let that happen to you." She hugs me and I hug back. "Thank you Aaron." "You're welcome." She steps away from the hug Zak walks over and stands next to us "You're in for a treat Mal since this is your first trip on the RV." Mallory looks at me then back at Zak "Should I be scared Zak?" He smiles then kisses her and wraps his arms around her waist she kisses back I roll my eyes and go get in the RV with the two of them being lovey dovey this was going to be a really long drive and I wasn't sure if I was prepared for it.
