Chapter 34

Billy's POV

Today was the second day of the lockdown tonight we were actually going to the cave tonight today once everyone was up and ready to go we were going out to the John Bell headstone to do some filming there I walk out of my room then go to the lobby to see what they have for breakfast when I get down there I'm surprised to see a large breakfast buffet that's actually edible. I walk over fix something to eat then sit down and start eating while I'm eating one by one the rest of the group slowly emerges into the lobby the first one is Aaron he walks over and fixes a plate then walks over and sits down with me and starts eating we sit and talk for a while then Jay and Ash are next we all eat breakfast and continue talking. Finally the last two to emerge are Zak and Mallory Zak fixes a plate then they both walk over and sit down they join the conversation as well Mal doesn't eat but she talks she keeps her head on Zak's shoulder and one of her hands on his knee you can tell Zak doesn't mind at all every now and then he tries to slide his plate over but she doesn't accept it today was off to a good start and I had a good feeling about tonight.

Ashley's POV

While the guys go out to the woods to film at the tombstone I stay behind and take a few pictures I look over at Mallory who is sitting out of sight and not speaking I walk over to her and smile. "You can talk to me you know I'm just taking pictures my job doesn't require as much concentration as everyone else." She laughs "Sorry I just don't want to get in the way I'm not anything important I'm not part of the crew." She may not be a member or have a tech job or anything like that but she didn't know how important she was to all of us. I look over at her "You may not have a job as part of the crew but you are important to all of us. Zak is a different person since he's came back to Vegas with you, I like having a girl around to talk to and spend time with and the rest of the guys think of you as a great friend so you are part of this group." She smiles then hugs me "Thanks Ash." "You're welcome." We hear footsteps coming toward us we both look up and see the guys walking over to us I smile then walk over to see Jay I look over and see Mallory and Zak standing in front of the barn with historic bell witch cave across it Zak kisses her and wraps his arms around her waist and I take a picture to capture the moment.

Mallory's POV

Call time for the lockdown was at seven tonight Billy and Jay had already set up the nerve center and everyone was off doing their own thing to prepare and get in their zones for tonight I was sitting outside where I wouldn't bother anyone or be a distraction when I hear footsteps coming toward me I'm expecting another hotel guest but I'm surprised when I see Zak standing above me. I stand up and look at him "Is everything okay?" He nods "Yeah I'm fine let's get in the truck I need to go somewhere for a walk." I nod then we leave the hotel and somehow a little while later we are parked at an overgrown path Zak gets out then starts walking and listening to music I walk next to him silently but I don't get close enough to touch him because this wasn't my Zak this was professional working Zak. We walk through the weeds and the tall grass I look around and listen to the birds sing I jump when I feel something touch my hand I look over and see Zak holding my hand he gives me a small smile and I know that even though he's working and getting in the zone my Zak is still here with me.

Zak's POV

In less than an hour we would be starting our lockdown in the cave first William Porter one of the descendants of the man who tried to kill the witch according to legend we had decided to use him as a trigger object to see if we could get any evidence the cameras were off so I had a little time to talk to Mal before I got locked in. I walk over to where she parked the truck so it's out of sight she's sitting on the tail gate I walk over and stand in between her legs she hugs me and wraps her arms around me and I lay my head on her shoulder her fingers start running up and down the back of my neck I feel her lips on the side of my neck then she pulls away "Be careful in there okay?" I nod then notice her eyes are filled with worry and concern for me "I'll be okay I promise don't forget to lock the doors." I give her a walkie talkie "Same as last time you won't be able to see us but you will be able to hear us." She hugs me again and wraps her arms around my neck "I love you Zak." I kiss her head "I love you too sweetie." I turn around then walk off to get locked in the Bell Witch Cave.
