Chapter 17

Zak's POV

I walk in the house late that night I pull everything out of my pocket then sit them on the counter "Mal? Gracie I'm back." Gracie runs up to me and I play with her for a little bit "Come on let's go find Mal." I walk outside to see if she's sitting by the pool and she isn't there I shrug then walk back inside and the living room is empty finally I make it to the bedroom and stop the closet is open and all of her clothes are gone my heart starts pounding Mallory isn't here she left I sit down and run my fingers through my hair she left and it was all my fault. When I yelled at her it was the lockdown hangover speaking but when I brought up Vanessa that was all me I was right though Vanessa had been an investigator so she understood all of this plus when we were dating she didn't have to be with me all the time and we weren't always going out I know by saying all of this I was just trying to convince myself, Mal wasn't clingy I look back at the past few weeks and between the lockdown and editing the show we hadn't spent a lot of time together. I try to sleep that night but I can't not without Mal next to me I sit up and walk over to her bookshelf find her favorite book Pride and Prejudice then start reading it.

TWO WEEKS LATER

AJ'S POV

Mal had been staying with me for the past two weeks I didn't mind that at all but I could see she wasn't moving on or trying to get over Zak I could hear her cry sometimes and she insisted on me being with her every night I still wanted to beat the crap out of the ghostbuster if I had the chance to get my hands on him. I know that she's hurting and right now she was vulnerable I walk over and sit down next to her she looks up at me and I look in her eyes this was it I run my fingers down her arm then lean in and kiss her she kisses back and wraps her arms around my neck I push her back on the couch and get on top of her she pulls on my shirt I take it off and throw it in the floor she starts tracing my tattoos with her fingers I look down at her and our eyes meet she pulls me in and kisses me. I run my hands under her shirt and run my fingers down her sides she pulls off her shirt her skin was pale she looked beautiful I start kissing down her neck and she closes her eyes I wanted her to feel good again and I was helping her do that and for now she needed me and I couldn't say no to her.

Mallory's POV

I look over at AJ and he's sleeping I curl up closer to him I wasn't planning on ever sleeping with him so things just kind of happened for the two of us but for the first time in two weeks I felt wanted AJ made me feel human again. I know that Zak and I weren't technically broken up but in the past two weeks he hadn't called so that said something I had hoped he would call and try to fix things for now Zak and I weren't together and he didn't exist but AJ did exist and I had him we had crossed the line and now we were more than just friends. I didn't know if I loved AJ right now it was too soon for me to think about having another relationship but maybe if he gave me some time I could love him one day, AJ pulls me closer to him I let out a yawn and for the first time in weeks I go to sleep without thinking of Zak Bagans.

Zak's POV

I was doing everything I could to keep from proving that Aaron was right but the guys had known me for a while I had just been mic'd up to do an interview for the episode of Ghost Adventures we were fixing to film I couldn't keep Mallory off my mind I shake my head "Stop filming I need a minute." The guys lower their cameras and I start walking off I find my backpack I always have with me open it and pull out her copy of Pride and Prejudice I sit on the ground pull out my phone then look down at her picture I missed her a lot I wanted to call but I didn't know what I was going to say if she answered "What's up with you bro?" I look up and see Aaron standing in front of me I let out a sigh "It's Mallory I yelled at her said a few things I shouldn't have said and she left me." Aaron sits down next to me "I'm sure she knows you didn't mean it plus it may not have been as bad as you think." "I brought up Vanessa and said at least she understood and Vanessa wasn't as clingy as she is." Aaron punches me in the shoulder "Bro you are such and idiot you said she's Vanessa's best friend and two you never compare a girl to your ex you're so stupid." He gets up and walks away from me Aaron was right about everything I take a deep breath then sigh I was in trouble.
