Chapter 55

FOUR MONTHS LATER

Vanessa's POV

Kevin and I were flying out to Vegas today Mallory had called asking me to be her maid of honor I said yes I needed to be fitted for a dress plus I wanted to see what kind of dress Mallory had picked out. The last time we talked she told me that her and Zak had chosen black and red for their wedding colors it was going to be a vampire wedding almost and someone Zak knew had agreed to perform the ceremony for most people it would be strange and it would have a Halloween feeling to it but for Zak and Mal I knew that it would work for them they wouldn't have to worry about copying someone else. They had been planning their wedding I was the maid of honor then there was Zak's sister and Mal's sister, Zak had asked Aaron to be his best man but he wanted Kevin to be standing with him as well the argument he made was without Kevin he would have never met Mal. I knew they were a perfect couple and their wedding would be amazing I was really happy for the two of them.

Zak's POV

Kevin and Vanessa arrive and we take them in separate directions they weren't going to stay until the wedding but they were coming for dresses and a tux. Since Mal and I had gone with black and red I was going to wear a red shirt with a black dress but Aaron and Kevin were going to wear black shirts and jackets with a red tie and vest and Mal's bridesmaids were going to wear red dresses with a black sash around the waist. Our wedding was a few months away we agreed on a lot, disagreed on a few things, Father Sebastiann had agreed to do the ceremony the biggest thing we hadn't planned yet was we didn't know where we wanted to get married I could find places to go for lockdowns but I couldn't find anywhere to get married and Mal didn't really know either so we were kind of stuck on that. The tux fitting goes well so we just hang out for a while after that I pay attention to the conversation but the one thing that keeps popping into my head is where on Earth are Mallory and I going to get married because at the moment neither of us had a clue.

Mallory's POV

Along with Vanessa and Zak's sisters his mother Ellen had showed up she was excited that Zak was getting married because she thought her son would never settle down she was being subtle with her hints about having grandchildren one day. I wouldn't push that with Zak though he didn't want kids and if it meant that I would get to spend the rest of my life with Zak I guess having children could be something that I could live without in time I would get used to the fact that I would never be a mother could I do that though give up having kids. I look around at Ness and Zak's sister trying on dresses ten I look at my phone and see a picture of Zak I walk outside and prop against the wall and take deep breaths but they don't help I was having second thoughts about marrying Zak and I don't know what I should do about how I feel or what I could do to change his mind about not wanting to have kids.

Zak's POV

I walk in the house later that afternoon and see Mallory sitting on the couch I look at her "Is everything okay?" "Come sit down I think we need to talk about something." My heart starts pounding in my chest but I do what she asks and I hope we haven't come this far only for her to break up with me now I couldn't handle that I walk over and sit down next to her. She looks at me and holds my hand "I love you Zak Bagans and I do want to marry you but there is one thing I need to know before we continue planning our wedding." I nod "What is it?" "What if I want to have kids one day I might want to be a mom but I know that you don't want kids I'm in my twenties Zak I don't know if I can give that up." I look over at her I don't know what to say I did want to marry her but I wasn't really ready for kids now but I had told Kevin there was a possibility al and I would have them and I told my mother that too. I take a deep breath then look at her "I won't make you give that up it's wrong and selfish I'm not saying we have a baby right now but one day we will have a baby I promise." I wasn't lying to her she would get the chance to be a mother and I would do whatever it took to be a good dad.
