Chapter 8: Drama In Cafeteria
Monday arrived once again and both Will and I went back to our annoying-each-other mode. Whatever that happened from the party till the trashing of Liv's party was forgotten. Well, it seemed that way because Will hadn't spoke a word about it ever since Sunday morning so I assumed that we shouldn't talk about it.
We spent the entire afternoon during Saturday to clean up the mess. It was horrible, someone had the balls to puke in my room. My room. The curtains had dried stains of the drinks. Someone must have spilled it all over the curtains. It took forever to get the stain removed.
"Ms Tyler." I snapped out of my spacing out and glanced at my homeroom teacher, Mrs Lim. Low chuckles filled the room as I felt myself blushing furiously. Mrs Lim rested her hands on my desk and narrowed her eyes at me. I was surprised her glasses hadn't fell off her nose yet, she looked like a grandmother with her glasses placed at the tip of her nose like that. I smirked in my mind.
"Yes, Mrs Lim?" I said sweetly and innocently. Who said I couldn't be bad sometimes? I knew she called me because she caught me spacing out, it was the first time actually. I had never been caught before.
"Your grades might be good, Fleur. But I still want you to respect me and pay attention in class. Especially in my class, got it?" she gritted her teeth.
I leaned forward to Mrs Lim and smirked. "Got it, Mrs Lim."
She gave me a frown and went back to teaching. Polly who sat beside me winked and gave me a thumbs up. I nodded a thanks at her and turned my head back to facing the black board. Polly and I hated Mrs Lim ever since she caught me beating up Polly's bully who tried to beat her up. Mrs Lim concluded that I made the first move and hit him without actually knowing the truth behind.
The least the both of us could do was making Mrs Lim's life a living hell in class. No one appreciates her in class, except for Briana but we won't talk about her. Not worth my time, anyways.
* * *
Lunch time rolled around and the bell rang. Everyone gathered their books and started to run out of Mrs Lim's classroom. No one bothered to stay back another second with that old lady. Her brown curls didn't suit her at all.
I flung my backpack over my shoulder and Polly did the same with hers.
The whole cafeteria fell into silence when Polly and I entered. All eyes were on the both of us, actually mostly me. I gulped. I wasn't used to being the centre of attention, so why was I today?
"You're breaking up with me because you're siding with her now?!" my attention snapped to the high-pitch tone which belonged to Liv. Her blonde hair falling over her red face. She was obviously mad.
Ken just stood in front of her. His face blank, not a single emotion on it. Were they fighting or something? I thought to myself. Polly stood next to me, holding two trays of food. One for me and one for her.
"I'm breaking up with you because you have no self-respect. I saw you grinding on Jason at Will's party when your boyfriend was obviously in the same room too." I could tell he was hurt. He sounded a little hurt..and it was Liv's fault. Even if that had nothing to do with me, I felt angry. Like I had to stand up to Liv.
"Wait here, Polls." I whispered to Polly and threw my backpack over my shoulder as I strode over to where the couple were.
"Hey Fleur." Ken said my name smoothly. I nodded at him and turned my head to Liv who was sending me dirty looks.
Stupid girl.
"Fleur Tyler, I'm surprised you still dare to show your face here in school after what you've done." every word Liv said was like spitting venom at me.
She's up to something, don't fall for her tricks. a voice said in my mind. That must have been little Fleur. Little Fleur was a voice in the back of my mind who adviced me on what to do. Example, moments like these.
"What have I done?" I raised an eyebrow, while looking bored. That annoyed her and she blushed a bit.
"I saw you pressed all pressed up against my boyfriend. Then when I tried to find Will, I found you guys sleeping in the same room."
As though right on cue, Will came up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder. He gave me a questioning look, oblivious on what was going on.
"Correction, ex-boyfriend. Since I heard him saying he's dumping you. And Ken was the one who made the move, not me. And Will's part? I got drunk and he took care of me." I said it like I had recite it over and over before.
"You whore." she spat at me.
"Liv, we're over." Ken placed a hand on my other shoulder. "Will's my best friend, and since he's with Fleur over here, I am too. We're through, Liv."
"NO! You can't! I'm popular! I'm pretty! Please Ken, don't do this!" seriously?
"Sorry Liv, I. Just. Dumped. You."
"AH! You'll regret this, Fleur Tyler!" with that, she stormed off to her cheerleader friends. Once everyone sensed that the drama was over, they went back to eating their lunch and I was peacefully ignored once again. Polly was at our usual table, her jaw wide and clearly shocked at what happened.
"Hey Fleur." I felt someone pulling me by my shirt( another of Will's shirt. I loved the designs on it. ) and I looked over my shoulder. Ken was tugging 'my' shirt. "Could Will and I sit with you? Obviously we couldn't sit at our table with Liv being there."
I gazed at him suspiciously. I just didn't got used to Ken being nice and all. It was weird to not have him laughing at me with all his friends insulting me. Not saying a word, I nodded and walked over to Polly.
"What happened?" Polly asked as Ken sat beside her while Will sat beside me. Will seemed to be as lost as Polly was so Ken and I told them what happened and all.
"What made you being nice all of a sudden?" Polly asked Ken. Have I mentioned Polly was a pro when it comes to flirting?
She batted her eyelashes at him and pouted while expecting an answer. I could see that Ken grew pink a bit seeing Polly like that. Wasn't he used to it? Seeing that he was always around those cheerleaders who flirt at almost every hour they were awake.
"Will's my best friend now and Liv was cheating on me so.." he trailed off.
"Enough about me, what about you two? Why are you staying with him?" Ken pointed at me then at Will.
"Fleur's his babysitter." Polly said plainly. I could tell Ken was trying his best to not laugh and keep his face straight but failed after a few seconds. Soon Polly was joining him in the laughing party while Will and I just stared at them.
"A match made in heaven." Will whispered to me and I nodded.
"Hey!" our laughter stopped when Liv stopped at our table with a glass of coke in her hand. She was staring at Ken most of the time when she stood there. Apparently Liv's arrival did not only silenced our table, but the rest of the tables in the cafeteria too.
"Welcome to hell, Fleur." she splash the coke all over my shirt.
She. Did. Not. Just. Do. That.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So..I see The Tylers get splash really often. Cameron got splashed by Tiana while his daughter gets splashed by another girl. Yeap! Ken is good now! It's a waste for him to be bad.. Oh and do you guys imagine the story with your own characters?
Till next time, mates!
