Chapter 12
~Fleur~
"I should've been your bridesmaid!" Liv whined and Max chuckled. Polly narrowed her eyes at Liv and said, "You're too mean to be my bridesmaid." which sent Will laughing, trying not to let tears fall. Liv smacked the back of Will's head which shut him up immediately.
"Are you sure you're even supposed to be here? I meant, with your invisible bodyguards around." Liv gave him a look and Will turned around in his seat, checking if anyone looked suspicious. I knew what Liv meant, if there were some of his bodyguards listening into our conversation, it would be extremely dangerous, since Avery could find out about all of us just by using money to bribe the bodyguards. For a twenty-one year old, I was pretty smart.
I smirked to myself.
"It's called common sense, Flower." Will flicked my nose and laughed. Sometimes I hated it that he could sense what I was thinking just by looking at my expressions. It's like he's a mind-reader.
Our orders for dinner came and the waitress stood at the edge of the table, looking like she was waiting for something. "What?" I asked her, and she looked at me before her eyes darted to Will's face.
Oh!
That explained so much.
"Do you need anything else?" She wasn't talking to the rest of us, her eyes were glued to Will only. Will didn't even look at her as he waved her off and concentrated on his mushroom soup. A smirk escaped my lips and the waitress glared at me before she stormed off. Liv and Max exchanged secret looks, while Polly mouthed the word 'burn' at me.
I chuckled and felt a slight vibration in the left pocket of my jeans. My eyes instantly darted to the source and I slipped my hand in and took it out. Sileen's name was flashing at the front of the screen while a picture of her smiling was on top of her name.
I answered the call and pressed the phone against my ear, while making 'shh' noises to the others telling them to quiet down. They did.
"Hey Sil, what's up?"
"Fleur? Is that you?" She sniffed. Whoa, she sounded like she was crying! I narrowed my eyes and pressed the phone tighter.
"Are you okay? Did something happened?" Knowing Sileen, she wasn't the type of person that would handle a situation clearly when she breaks down. The moment the tears come, her mind just shuts down and her emotions take over whatever choices she makes. And by the sound of her crying, it's bad.
"Fleur, I don't think I can do this..." she sniffed again. Then a sob. "Liking Hemi is harder than it is..." she whimpered.
Hemi was the cute waitor that worked with Sileen in Starbucks, he was only a year older than her so I approved of her crush on him. Hemi wasn't the cocky guy type, he was adorable and just plain funny. When I meant cute, I wasn't talking about cute as in hot, I meant it in seriously adorable kind of cute.
Anyways, Sileen went on and on about how a girl came to Starbucks and somehow left her phone number with Hemi after flirting with him. After she'd left, Hemi told Sileen that he was going to ask her out and that he thinks the girl was kinda cute. That seriously broke my little friend's heart because she was seriously into him. Like really into him.
I hung up, but not before calming Sileen a little by promising her that I'll meet her at Starbucks in fifteen minutes. I shoved my phone into my pocket and saw the worried looks my friends were sending me.
"Was that Sileen?" Max asked in his protective voice. I nodded and I saw him tensed up. Liv placed a hand on his shoulder and that relaxed him a bit. Poor Max, Sileen had always been like his little sister.
"I'm going to find her now. See you guys later!" I said and stood up and was about to go, but Will grabbed my wrist, making me look at him. His eyes were filled with concern for Sileen but at the same time, they were telling me not to go. I gave him an apologetic look and gave him a swift kiss on the cheek before leaving my friends...and my almost-boyfriend.
Starbucks wasn't much far away from the diner so I just gathered my stamina and ran. My legs hurt from running but my friend needs me, and that was enough to motivate me.

"Sileen? Let me in! It's Fleur!" I banged on the door of the place. There was a CLOSE sign on it and the place was dark. The place never closed that early before so I assumed Sileen ordered the other workers to go home and take the night off.
There was a clang sound and then the door jerked open. Sileen was standing in front of me, tears were obvious in her eyes as she said the three words that made my heart beat stopped for a second.
"I love Hemi."

Yo guys, for your info, Fleur and Will's relationship improved since the last chapter and since he couldn't be Fleur's official boyfriend and in a way "cheat on" Flower, I'm gonna put him as 'almost-boyfriend'.
