Chapter 11: Rescue Me

I didn't know how long I hid at the school's roof top but Jeff found me hours later when I had no more tears to cry. He didn't say anything when he saw me, which I was really grateful for. But I felt guilty of not talking to him either. He might think I was ignoring him or something even if he was just seeing if I was okay.

"What are you doing here?" I started the conversation. He moved closer to me and smiled.

"I heard what happened."

"Look, please don't talk about it-"

"How about we go out tonight? We'll have fun, forget all the drama." he gave me one of his genuine smiles that rarely any of the girls had seen. Guess I should feel happy that I was one of the girls that had seen it.

"You won't record it and show it to anyone would you?" I pretended to be angry but inside I felt relief that someone would want to hang out with me and forget whatever that happened. That reminds me, how was I going to face Will? I couldn't go back to his place, I didn't even want the job at first.

"Of course not. I'll pick you up at your place at seven maybe?"

I smiled and nodded. I needed to take my mind off Will for a second and live my life a little. Before I became Will's babysitter I used to be free. Freedom was something I had.

Jeff stood up and brushed off the dirt from his shirt. "See you, Fleur." he winked and ran off before the teachers catch him skipping class. I didn't care if the teachers found me anyway, my grades would be good no matter what thanks to that brain of mine.

Unknown's POV

Revenge is so sweet.

The last time I spied on that beautiful girl, a guy asked her out. Hmm...I couldn't harm the girl without him noticing either. Ah, what the heck I would just kill them both and get things over.

Fleur's POV

When almost half the population of the school had left the school, I covered my face with my hood and hoisted my backpack over my shoulder. Time to move.

I strode over to where Polly was waiting -in her car- and quicken my pace as fast as my feet could carry me. When Polly saw me, she unlocked her car and I quickly slipped in and sighed heavily.

"Send me home, Polls." I told her. Without asking too much, she drove me home.

When my home came into view, I never thought I would be so happy to see it. Mom was at the front gate, looking worried. The school must have told her what happened, I guess. After waving at Polly goodbye, I hugged my mom. The tears that had disappeared earlier started to form again.

"Fleur!" I heard my dad's voice behind mom. His blonde hair the same as always and his glasses sat in front of his green piercing eyes.

"Dad..." I hugged my dad who quickly returned the hug.

After telling them what had happened in school, they insisted that I stayed with them until I was back being friends with Will. But I didn't see how Will and I would ever be friends again. Humiliating me in front of the whole school was really embarassing.
