Same time (Jordan's perspective)
I didn't know what Jay could want. All she said was she needed to speak to me. I arrived at the hospital and the lady at the desk just let me in. I walked into Jay's ward. She was holding a large envelope and a small piece of paper. I sat beside her.
" What's up,'' I said.
" I've got a note from Claire,'' she said,'' it's about Isabelle.''
She handed me the note and I read it. I couldn't believe it. I didn't know what to say. I looked over at Jay. She gave me a soft smile.
" What should we do,'' she asked me.
" Well...'' I said. I didn't know what to say at all.
There was a long silence.
" I would keep her but,'' she said.
" But what,'' I asked.
" Honestly, I couldn't live on my own. I would need to stay here,'' she said.
I didn't want her to stay here. I wanted her back with me in California. I couldn't leave her here.
" I'll help you look after her,'' I said without thinking.
" You would do that,'' she said.
" If you really want to keep her then yeah,'' I said.
" Thanks so much Jordan,'' she said smiling.
" You're welcome,'' I said hugging her.
Same Time (Jay's perspective)
I can't believe Jordan would do that for me. It would be hard to keep her but I couldn't stand the fact that she would go to a horrible home.
" D'you know when you are getting out,'' Jordan asked me.
" The doctor said if I feel up to it I can get out tomorrow afternoon,'' I said.
" That's great. We can pick up Isabelle after,'' he said.
He looked really happy.
" Yeah. She will be so happy,'' I said imagining her face.
Me and Jordan talked for ages until I fell asleep.
