One Night Stand

My heart beat
Like a drum on repeat
You glanced over me from above
I felt warmth from your kiss
Warmth from your touch
Your lips on my neck
Felt like fire
Burn
Lusting
Eating my morals alive
My ring screamed
The jewels shined
Trying to blind me
So I couldn't find your eyes
But they were so blue
And my pain tolerance was high
Your hands lightly
Pulled my hair
I roughly pulled yours
I wanted to know what it was like
You wanted to know who we once were
Who we could have been
Before the reality I created
Singing and dancing
In my mind like an acid trip
Came crashing down
Pulled from gravity
Shattering a hopeful reality
You tasted like cinnamon
You always tasted like cinnamon
But he tasted like peppermint
Your tenderness
Didn't match my hunger
My passion
Maybe it was because
You thought this could last forever
And I knew
It would only last a night
