Let me stand
By myself
Stare at the sky
The blues chewing
The white
The yellow charring
Light
Let me blind myself
Lose myself
In something more
Let me
Let me curl
In a ball
Make myself smaller
Shiver in my sweater
Even though it's not cold
Let me cry

To myself
Without explanation
Without questions
Or stares or pity
I don't care
If you care
Let me
Let my sway
On my heels
While nervousness
Grasps at my sides
Looking at him
From across the room
And making that eye contact
With those beautiful hazel eyes
Taking those steps
Where I sway
Towards his laughter
His smile
His breath that is sweet
With whiskey
Some that he offers to me
Let me drink
His larger then life
Painting
Where I am the canvas

Walk me to his room
Where posters hang
Where I can't hear myself think

As he locks the door

Even if it's only a whisper
A breeze near your ear
That you mistake for a kiss

Fright as contacts
