Damned Birds

Everyday
Everytime
I wake
To the light
The sounds
Of chirping birds
Singing
Their grand
Song
My eyes
Are
Blurred
My throat is dry
Why the hell
Do birds chirp
In the morning
It's lovely
But
Illegitimate
They chirp
They "sing"
Why is it not
A cry
What else could
It be
What do they
Have to be
Joyfully
Singing about
The trees
That are burning
Chopped
Written on by
School kids
With snotty noses
And sweaty palms
Or the air
That scrapes
The throat
Leaving lungs
Hungry
Starving
To be healthy
To be taken care of
Might as well
Live in space
Get it over with
But who cares
Much for those
Things
Lungs
I think they
Are called
They are charred
With tar
From cigs
That hang
From you lips
Poisons your spit
With the fragrance
That is so aweful
For me
They call it
Second hand smoking
The climates okay
If you like
Sun in December
And Rain
In august
Mother Nature
Seems confused
Or maybe
She wants to destroy
What she created
But aren't we
Included
No
That can't be true
We are untouchable
The apex predator
Though
I have to
Say
If it's between
Putting money on the sun
Or your gun
I'd pick the sun
That's the song
I sing
I chirp
To those damn birds
That cry
Screech
Scream
For you to
See
Your toxic
To their
Well being
Maybe
That's why their
Feathers fall
There screaming
"Save me"
Damned birds
