Shattering Glass

We started out as friends

Talking and sharing

It all made sense

You used to stare at me in class

Told me my eyes

Reminded you of glass

I chuckled and snuggled

Deep into your warmth

Never asking why

Because you warmed me

To the core

My insecurities

Began to engulf me

Comparing became

A game you see

The chase was over

The Excitement was gone

So you decided to go catch

Another shy one

I felt myself Breaking

Cracking every time

Your name came to my mind

You stopped radiating heat

And your stares were no longer

Directed Towards me

I just wanted you

To hold me

Once again

Treat me like

You cared

Even as a friend

The Glass began to Shatter

Falling to the floor

The mirror was cracked

And my blood seeped

Under the door
