Our Storm

It's Me and You
Now
With my head
On your chest
Your strong arms
Around my waist
It's me and you
Thy lord shall not take
The night is raging
The wind is whipping
The naked branches
Against my window
Leaving the red leaves
Falling
On the grass
Where you once stood
Throwing small pebbles
Making me open the curtains
To see
You holding a carton of ice cream
And A bouquet of movies
Because you know how I feel
About flowers
Giving me something
That dies
Quick
With thorns
Is a horrid
Sight when wilted and aged
Through the grace of wise
The rain is still falling
Hard as small coins
Bringing cold shivers
And a long blue blanket
That you brought to me
On Christmas Eve
After we stood In the rain
Kissed without shame
Passionate lips
Cascading the tips
Of ecstasy
With small nips
And quite smiles
Against each other's lips
The next glorious
Morning when the sun kissed the hills
We woke up with a cough
That could not be tamed
Like a lions mane
The diamond still shines
Like when you took me
To that fancy
Restaurant
And slid it
Onto my finger
Roaring cheers
Like the thunder in the distance
Rumbling to release
Another angered screech
For my ears
To hear
A flash of light
So blinding
By the tree outside
Where we first met
As children
With chubby cheeks
And innocence dripping
From our essence
Where we climbed each branch
Where we hung by our legs
Where you picked me up when I fell
Where we had our first picnic
With a patterned quilt
That was red and white
It's Me and You
Now
With my head on your chest
As our hearts start to race
Your strong arms
Tightly around my waist
Thy lord shall not take
The memories
Of our storm
The night is raging
As I mourn
