Change

The world rushes by
My window
Signs of goodbyes
With twinkling lights
The boxes shuffle
As we hit the bump
I hold tight to my duffle
Thinking my life is sunk
We turn into the drive way
My mom embraces the sight
I get out the car
Ignoring the light
Hearing the laughter of kids
Trapped in a different lense
Knowing that I might
Be hateful of change
But it would come
Anyway
We unpack and settle our things
As I explore this maze
I find it strange
The neighbors are nicer
The house is quieter
Their identity here
Is stronger
The sun shines bright
Birds chirping
Roses blooming
Why is all this happening
I find myself slipping into their grasp
Smiling at my surroundings
Finding the sun
In the rain
Of change
Looking around
I see my mom
She says "you see this is our new home"
I realize I have forgotten
About our old place
As I lose my self in my new homes grace
I smile and say "I know mom it's a beautiful place"
