For The Lonely

I seem to be falling

Again

In this cold hard bed

Waiting for someone

To catch me instead

These voices

Scream to me

Longing to be released

From my memories

Givinging me comfort

As if someone is here

The shadows seem to dance

As my arms swing

As my hips sway

As my eyes

Gain a hypnotic glaze

As the candle wax drips

Down the palm

Of my hand

On the walls

The shadows

Seem to understand

My loneliness

They dance with me

As I become

Lost in the beat

It pulsates in my blood

It illuminates my body

It intertwines with my soul

It floods my senses

Until I fold

It seems to follow me

Where ever I go

That dull sensation

Of being alone

A crowd

Or a pair

Its in the back of my mind

No one will understand

The chains that confine

Me

To this sanctuary

Where shadows dance

Where voices sing

Where everything seems lost

Where there is nothing but a beat

The soft beat of wings

Of a butterfly in spring

Awaiting me

The soft beat of trickling water

Being released

The soft beat of my own heart

That no one can see

I seem to be falling again

In this cold hard bed

Waiting for someone

To catch me instead

For this loneliness

Follows me

Even as a ghost

Without a tread
