To the boy
That seems

Always hides
Without a word
Who holds
Sore arms
And bruised knuckles
From trying to win
The war
For his dear mother
Who his dad
Calls a whore

To the man
That transforms
When danger seeks
My side
Who looks in my eyes
As an equal still
And loves my voice
Like it's his favorite

As we sway in dancing

To the boy
Who holds
Me tight
With his fragile
