My Dark Angel

I sit and wait for him

The window wide open

The moonlight dripping

From the sky

I sight dark

Midnight wings

Coming towards me

I stand up immediately

As a wide smile

Crosses my face

My soul is free to take

He lands on the roof

Knocks three times

Signaling his demonic design

Tempted by his beauty

I climb out the window

Use all my strength to meet

My dark lover

As our eyes make contact

I feel lost

And cold

Feeling as if

I never had a home

I touch one of his wings

They are soft as can be

Shimmering on his back

Each black feather

Latched to the facts

"Do you want to be free" he asks

With a glimpse of greed

"Yes" I say

Hesitant but with need

"Then come with me"

He grabs my hand

Taking me closer to the edge

He does not push or shove

He simply waits for me to jump

The pressure is too much

One foot glides over the edge

The other foot waiting instead

His patience runs thin

He elevates himself

Waiting for my choice

He tells me death is the only freedom

I should rejoice

Both my feet leave the roof

Flying for a moment

Then only meeting

The shadows of my own mind

They tell me this is not the first

Time

I get the choice

Then I sign

Choosing the wrong path

Every time

For the temptation of my dark angel

Is too much for me

That's why he continues to deceive

Leaving me in the darkness

Wanting to be free

His midnight wings

No longer seen
