Being missing is not a crime, but I'm 100 percent sure Levi committed one by bringing a 'low risk' missing person back to his apartment.

I wonder if he knows.

"Raped?" his voice was quiet, rougher. "When?"

"It was the night before you found me in your office," I said. "I umm left when he was asleep and came to the station just as the janitors were cleaning. I snuck in."

My grand escape which would later-- lead to me confessing, to a legit police officer that I broke and entered.

We shall see if that ever bites me in the ass.

Levi collapsing onto his couch "And that's why you were all beat up," he turned his head to look at me, "You fought him."

"—Like I wanted to sleep with that bastard." I sat on his soft sofa chair. "I'd rather choose the person I want to spend nights with, Levi." I pressed a soft pillow against my chest, hugging it.

"Everything makes sense now.."

He's taking this really well.

He almost sounds like he believes me.

"I wish I was stronger---maybe I wouldn't have looked like I had been run over." I clicked my tongue.

I wish I would have taken up sports like karate. I wouldn't have been so weak in defending myself if I just had some more muscles.

The biggest regret I have is feeling like I could have done more.

"You believe me right?"

He sat up on his elbow, "I do." His brows narrowed. "I saw those marks on your arms and knew that a dog with fangs couldn't have possibly done that."

As soon as I said fangs, I knew I messed up badly.

I wrinkled my nose. "I need to work on my story telling." I leaned back in the chair, my shoulders relaxing a bit. "It feels nice to have that off my chest. Thank you for not looking at me any differently."

"How would I have looked at you?," his expression sincere.

"------Like I'm broken."

His mouth turned up and he laughed once. "Maisie Brooks you are not broken. You are anything but broken."

"Hhm, I like that," I tilted my head. "Maybe I can get that tattooed in jail."
