"What are you talking about, Melody?" Levi made a face.

"Don't give me that crap, Levi Knight! Tell me what's going on, right now!"

---She used to be so sweet.

"Calm down, nothing is going on," he shrugged playing it cool. "

"What am I supposed to think? You and Maisie both go away on vacation at the exact same time and are supposed to return on the exact same day."

When she says it out loud, I would be suspicious about those people too.

Levi kept his voice low, "You're not supposed to question me. Nothing is going on between Maisie and I."

"I don't believe you. I won't believe you! ---You went out of your way countless times to save her!"

"I'm a police officer, it's my job to help people and do the right thing," he explained away. "Nothing has happened between Maisie and I."

"Nothing can happen," she affirmed. "You can't get involved with her, Levi."

"I know, Melody."

"Even if you want to you can't."

Levi's eyebrows shot up, his chin lifted, "What makes you think I want something to happen?"

"You seem to care about her an awful lot," she said. "I know a crush when I see one."

"Don't make me caring about her as a person a bad thing, Melody. You of all people know she's been through a lot."

"Your right, I apologize." Melody looked a little embarrassed. " I shouldn't have just stormed in here. I—it's Cassie, she just put some ideas in my head."

"Cassie..." he stifled a laugh. " She's upset about the Banquet, Melody. Don't listen to her."

I wasn't surprised that Cassie would try to start some unnecessary rumors.

I wish she wouldn't have been the one to alert Melody.

I'm worried about who else she told about her suspicions.
